  1. I know the ones I helped Dad with over the years were all assembled with lubriplate on the bearings. Then spin with no plugs until oil pressure showed and with 30w non detergent as break in oil. Was it right? IDK but it worked on all but one. That one I personally believe sat too long( close to a decade) and either the lubriplate dried up or dirt got in the engine
  2. Can you put eye bolts through 4 of the bed mounting points? That should get you most of the way there with maybe the eye bolts interfering with the last little drop.
  3. I have an Oct 1948 printing and the standard parts section is 1 page. It says" standard parts, such as bolts, screws, rivers, plainwashers, lockwashers, etc are listed in this parts list as attaching standard parts immediately under the part which they attach. For further information see standard parts list D-11171 dated may 1946.
  4. Can you post a pic of your floor? That area is a common rust spot and it's possible you have something going on with the floor studs
  5. My 41-47 book shows part number 622783 but there is no picture. The Canadian 40-47 Dodge and Fargo book shows the same part number and a picture of the straight bar style. I always thought the triangle one was the earlier version but my 36-48 Plymouth book pictures the straight style too.
  6. I think the WCs use the triangle ones. I have some books at home I can check.
  7. What I learned is don't buy the cheap tool. Personally I've done many of these and never needed heat. I've even heard you're not supposed to heat them. If it doesn't come off get a bigger hammer.
  8. A 51-52 clip sort of fits but doesn't really look right. The A pillar for slimmer for 51/52s and causes a weird look at the cowl.
  9. I think the harder they are to free up the better they were when parked. Think about it- a bunch of worn parts have more clearance to get free. Nice tight parts can't handle it
  10. We had another couple over along with their two boys. We had appetizers for dinner/snacks and hung out until just after 12. The little one went to bed around 9 but the other 4 kids made it to 12. I made meatball sliders- yum!
  11. No neighbors were awakened but we did let the boys stay up until midnight with their buddies. We kicked them off video games just before midnight to watch the ball drop
  12. Yes the concept at the time was to put the reamer in the drill backwards and use it as it's own guide
  13. There was a thread on here a few years ago where this was brought up. I got a reamer and bushings off McMaster and was able to do a test carb. I loaned that carb out to someone local who was having issues but then it turned out his was a dist thing. So I can't say how good it works
  14. Or just remember to pull it out of OD... I personally don't use my OD around town just when I'm hitting the highway or freeway
  15. This is my P15 before I reinstalled my freshly painted dash.
  16. That should be a cable to turn off and on the water supply into the heater core(s). I'm blanking on how the knob is labeled though
  17. Sounds like you have the lock clocked wrong in the latch.
  18. Maybe post some tractor content in the off topic area. I've got this one waiting in the wings but it might squeak by enough to be in the truck forum
  19. Small dead blow hammer? Nut driver you can push with your whole hand? Wooden dowel to push to tap?
  20. I also saw where someone melted the goo out of the back of the Mopar unit and used it to hide the GM one.
  21. Another thought to consider is to pull the timing chain. Then you can turn the crank and cam separately and see what's going on
  22. The interesting thought to me is the 39 trucks don't. So were there so many complaints that it was brought back?
  23. The 41-47 trucks certainly have a hole in the grill for the hand crank
  24. I recently watched a video on YouTube where they were interviewing the former owner of that seized Tucker
  25. This has been in the works for a few years. I do think it's ridiculous that they are going down to this level. eBay had an email out about it a few weeks ago where you could email your representative to complain
