Electronic tilting windscreen, heated hand grips, ABS + balanced braking, 1300cc motor, helmet phone bluetooth, helmet POV camera, and a large patrol area - all the fun things that a fella could ever need!

I suppose that it's a good thing having the gauge read empty early - sort of like having a reserve tank hey! Desotodav

That running motor is music to my ears! Great job Joe. I sent Hank 5 or 6 sets (3 springs per set) of stainless steel throttle linkage springs to sell a while back that were made to the original specifications. PM him if you're interested. Desotodav

We've got a saying in my occupation - 'RRLG' (ride 'round look good). I been doing that for the past 15 years! I worked for a legal firm before that. There's still quite a few more years to go before I can retire. Desotodav

I came across this photo a while ago somewhere on the internet and didn't see it shown in the photos above... Desotodav

Mopar fire extinguisher who got this one?
Desotodav replied to michael.warshaw's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Can anyone shed some light as to which models had the Mopar fire extinguishers were installed in, and whether they were used in trucks as well? Desotodav -
I found a 39 Desoto on Ebay here in Oz that I thought you guys might like a look at - I have no connection to the vehicle or seller... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1939-Chrysler-De-Soto-/230917627474?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item35c3c35e52&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1414 Desotodav

I ran a couple of extra flat metal pieces to extend between the 4 metal saddles where the headliner screws to as it gives the liner a bit better support. I have heard of Velcro being used on the underside of the to provide additional support to the 4 fixing screws. Desotodav

Great job on the new site GTK. I'm still working my way through it. I thought that I'd practice by adding a thumbnail photo that relates to a password tip... Desotodav

Great job Merle. I've been fortunate to have come across a few in my travels, but now I know that I have another option if required. Thanks for sharing the info. Desotodav

Geez Paul, you really gotta lay off the drink buddy! I assume that you're still having problems with that fuzzy camera of yours. I recall not that long ago when you didn't take pictures of anything. Might be time for a new camera - maybe that one's all worn out? Grille looks alright though - even if it's fuzzy. Desotodav

He painted it Toyota grey. I think it came out alright. He's still running it mostly original (including the 318), but has upgraded to disc brakes. We took some photos of our vehicles together a while back... Desotodav

My mate Dave has a 4-door 61 Dodge - we call them a Dodge Phoenix here in Oz. He gets plenty of looks as they are such an unusual looking car. I think that I more prefer the looks of the 2-door model. Desotodav

That photo came from an email that I received a while ago Jim. It looked like the cardboard box was really printed like that. I have no idea what would have been in that box. It seems that there is quite the debate in the US over China made/USA products. I did a bit of a Google search but could not come up with the original photo that I posted (my email of the same long since deleted). I found the attached logo that was similar though. I'm sure that we face the same problem here in Oz, with products being produced so cheaply from China. The big question relates to quality. I have heard of many people having problems with their Ford Mustang panels produced in Taiwan fitting correctly! Desotodav

Good on ya Bob. Cooper looks most happy to be back in the Wayback Machine! Desotodav

I've been that drunk Paul. Don't worry too much about it mate. Wait til you're sober and try again!! But more seriously - check the camera settings. My wifey's camera does the same in poor lighting conditions. Desotodav

I've used paint stripper on badges and had no problems Paul. Gets the job done in about 10 minutes. Desotodav

New and Improved Vapor Lock Prevention Tool
Desotodav replied to Norm's Coupe's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Glad that you brought that one up Fred. I recall reading another thread about the wooden clothes peg for fuel vaporization a while back but it didn't really explain how it worked. I'm taking the truck out for a run again this weekend so I better start looking for a wooden clothes peg! Temperature is close to 100 (in your talk) here today. Desotodav -
Hi AndyD, I'm planning another trip down your way in another month or 2. I'll email you when I look like heading south. My mate Vic is still waiting for his stub axles from Melbourne for his disc brakes. He reckons that he found a fella here closer to home that he should have used. I won't be going that way on my 53 coupe truck - too much of a stickler for originality! Desotodav

Hello fellow Aussie! Parts are not too hard to find here in Oz if you now where to look. Vent window rubbers are a little harder to find as our 'import' trucks had different windows to the overseas trucks. Sliding and fixed window rubbers are readily available here. I'll send you a PM. Be sure to add a few photos of your truck here as it will make it easier to see what you have, and tell us where you are. Desotodav

OT...A question for our Australian friends....
Desotodav replied to frankieflathead's topic in Off Topic (OT)
Frankie, our personalised number plate system here in Queensland works similar to what AndyD said - except we pay a one-off fee when we purchase the plates. The plates belong to you once you order and purchase them from PPQ (Personalised Plates Queensland). They can be sold and transferred to another person at your leisure after you own them. Check out this link to the PPQ website for extra information.... http://www.ppq.com.au/ . PPQ allow you to design the plate that you are after and see if it is still available on their website. The prices vary somewhat between the different plates available. The ones that I have on my 52 truck cost $2295, but the ones that I bought for the wife's car (25 years ago) were only around $250. They are available in many different designs, combinations and colours. They are also available in standard and 'slimline' sizes - slimline size is a smaller sized plate as the title suggests. A smaller 'accessory plate' is available for use on bike racks etc.. I assume that the plate photo that you have attached is from a Victorian registered rare 4wd option of an XY Ford Falcon utility? There are some quite clever combinations out there. There are many people here in Oz that consider themselves plate collectors. They buy up vast quantities of number plates and sell them on at a profit in years to come. I recall seeing a fella trying to sell an 'ELVIS' plate a while back for $2 million. There are always plenty of cool plates available for sale on Ebay - check out the current list... http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=queensland+personalised+plate&_ipg=200&rt=nc . See, you could be the proud owner now of the set of 'SELL NOW' plates for a cool $125,000 !!! Desotodav -
Why is the door lock on the Passenger Side
Desotodav replied to MarkAubuchon's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
They carried on the tradition for passenger-side door lock positioning with our right-hand drive Australian trucks - our door locks are installed on your driver's side! Desotodav -
About 11000 of us here in Queensland Australia. Will PM you tomorrow 90lxfive0.
