  1. Do you hear them binding? If not, I don't think that is your issue. How loose are the hinge pivots?

  3. So you want a 12 volt gauge to work with a 6 volt sender?
  4. Genny's don't really "go bad" unless there is a major malfunction. Brushes wear, bearings wear. It really comes down to the voltage regulator. It will burn up a genny or under-charge a battery. I've seen many instances of people going through multiple alternators as well. It's just the nature of the beast.

  6. Is it possible the sealing surface is ground undersized to the point that the seal ID is to large?
  7. You can always put 12 volts to the starter to speed things up.
  8. Thanks, I have no idea. I looked through hundreds of rolls until I came across this stuff. It seems to have a cross weave. It has some stretch parallel, but a lot of stretch diagonally. And it frays somewhat easily on two ends. There was just enough for the headliner and visors.
  9. Just use masking tape to hold it all together. Rope it in with the tape around the seal from inside to outside. It will tear as you go along. Then you remove the tape once it is in place. Use erethane to seal it up after it is in. The chromes probably slip into the molding before it is roped in. Once it is in they are locked in for good.
  10. Thanks gang. This my first headliner. I've been dieing for the chance to do one, so I embraced this challenge. Since last weekend I've been working on run channels and felt seals for the back windows. I also made B pillar covers and installed them. I just glued material to some thin cardboard and tucked the one side into the sharks teeth. With wet weather hear it will be nice to know that everything is sealed up tight.

  12. I finally have a headliner in the old girl. At the beginning of summer I installed underlay on the ceiling, and have been waiting patiently for my friend to have time to stitch me up a headliner. Well that day came on friday, so I went to work installing it this weekend. It turned out fairly good other than a few glue spots I need to address. I don't have the rear side windows in yet, and I need to seal the back glass. I almost like the look of a one piece rear side window. It would be fixed though. Anyways, what do you think?

Usually people do engine swaps to gain performance, not lose it...I assume you already have the engine, and you want to use it... you will need to cut the car up and weld mounts in, change wiring, and get a custom driveshaft made. A simple swap would be for an original engine. A great engine to swap would be a jeep 4 liter engine, and the junk yards are full of them. They have seven main bearings, and are fairly bullet proof. I've seen them with half a million kms, no oil pressure, whipping doughnuts at 5500 rpm all day. Performace parts are abundant aswell.

  19. So the front is a single filament? The correct way is for the signal and brake to be on the brighter circuit.

  21. I've been thinking about moving the bench in my 50 two door back two inches. I have it all the way back and mounted on the rearward holes and it isn't enough. Yes i kick the kick panel sometimes, but my main issue is my knees hitting the column. I think the bench bottom and tracks are identical to a four door bench.
  22. Be careful with the starter bendix. It may seem like it can be assembled three ways, but in reality it can only go together one way. Any other way and the key drops into a hole and jams the whole thing up.
  23. The 5 X 5.5 bolt pattern is common to DODGE, SUZUKI, FORD, KIA, DAIHATSU, INTERNATIONAL, JEEP, GEO, CHRYSLER and MITSUBISHI vehicles. A full list of vehicle makes and models appears below. 5 X 5.5 is generally thought of as the Ford truck bolt pattern. Wheels with 5 X 5.5 bolt pattern are sometimes found on travel trailers and utility trailers
  24. That's a good idea. I guess if the circuit is in shambles, a relay will be the easiest fix to get you rolling. What I mean is the original switch is plenty adaquate. You may need to replace the wire.
