How do you feel about a 10 blade 16" electric push fan on the front of the rad?
  4. To bad, probably was a nice deflector...oh well
  5. It is a 4 pole push button switch. Two poles are normally open and the other 2 are normally closed. The switch is placed on the throttle linkage. It is wired into the solinoid and the relay. When you push the throttle to wide open it cuts out the solinoid and drops you out fo OD. Sorta like passing gear. |The solinoid also interupts the ignition monentarily and allows the O)D to kick out. A side note...you can use a bosch relay for the OD relay. It is smaller and works up to 30 amps, with a voltage range up to 32 volts Your NAPA dealer should be able to help you.....I will look for the number on mine.
  6. A snow crusher...07 3500 dodge..5.9........best part is we have no snow...
  7. You can bypass the electrical functions but you will run into trouble as has already been said.....Hook it up like the schematic says and you will be much happier.....you can put the car in 2nd gear, select OD and it will shift automatically. you willl also find you can shift into 1st gear without the clutch when it shifts down....great for turning off the main road into a parking lot... A question I have not seen asked is "What gear ratio is your rear diff?" Will have an effect on how everything works......3:9 and 4:10 work very well....anything higher will cause the engine to struggle.....
  8. Great pics Doug.....made me go to the shop and check my transmission cases...mine are OD cases...I guess I was lucky and had a transmission that at one time was OD and had it removed...I stand corrected and the day is not lost as I have learned something.....
  9. That is a good buy....I would sell just the transmission for 300. All parts are rebuildable.
  10. Went up here today...........$1.139 per liter For my american friends that is $4.30 per US gallon..... That is for regular 87 octaine, pay the same for diesel Hope this makes you feel a bit better..this is why when I travell east I go thru the US..
  11. Yes Tammy, my apologies to all the Debbie's
  12. Cole Hearse has the kick down switch...if I can find the box I will post the part number...
  13. If you watch Barrett-Jackson you will see her buying a couple dozen cars each year..She has a car museum.......oh ya and lots of money.....
  14. Debbie Allen bought it from the winning bidder last night....
  15. Looks very nice, you do the wood graining?
  16. Thanks guys....will order monday.....btw..they have one to clear the radio....
  17. Has anyone purchased a 12 volt wiper conversion from Newport Engineering? I am converting from vacuum to 12 volt. Any suggestions.
  18. I am about to put into the shop and rewire the car...converted to 12 volt last winter but am not happy with the absense of fuses....so rewire, install electric wipers and modern radio.....the car will retain the stock look but be just a bit more drivable.....it's my black hole...
  19. hopfully the pictures come through 1941 P12, 218 engine with twin BB's and overdrive
  20. Good points made Roadkingcoupe....By profession I am a partsman....first question that was always asked was "Serial Number" from what you were working on....Phone manners are very important regardless of the tone of the conversation, you could always flip the bird after the customer has hung up. I have never done buisness with AB, but if he had what I needed I would give him a call.
  21. Thought I was reading my biography......
  22. After you convert I will sell you some cheap land in Florida.......
  23. Your 6 volt sol will work with 12 volts....I believe the cable should be pulled out to disengage the O/D. The oil you use can cause problems. Some oils have additives added to make them more slippery and this causes the sprag clutch to slip. You should also look for an oil that is compatible with yellow metal, ie: thrust washers and snychro rings. The additives will attack the brass and eat it away. Really, the OD is a very simple transmission but must be serviced correctly. I would look at the govenor as it is speed operated. Maybe gummed up....another question...how does your speedo operate? It drives off the same drive gear as the govenor. If the gear is not loaded enough by the park brake drum it could be slipping.....just some thoughts
  24. Depends on what you are wiring....I am about to re-wire my 41-P12.....will be doing it from scratch....there is not a lot of wiring that needs to be done...gotta love old technology...or the lack of
  25. Use a "Bosch" style relay......good for 30 amps and the wiring schematic is on the relay. They are small and can be hidden very easily.
