  1. I agree with Don....I would use a "frame" bolt...available from a truck shop.....welding might comprimise the frame. FYI...frame bolts have a larger grip and the washer is part of the bolt....likewise for the nut the washer is part of the nut.....the ordinary washer is what will fail and cause the bolt to come loose on a regular bolt....
  2. find another set of hubs that are right hand and install studs
  3. Now that would be some serious power in my P12....love these old birds
  4. There is a long 3/8" bolt on the top side of the OD case....make sure it is sealed....once in the car you can not get at it and will be a source of major leaking and headaches. Good luck.....love mine
  5. Thanks for posting these pictures..the cars are great....somehow you do not associate Sweden with these classic cars, but it is great to see the car nuts are world wide....
  6. Tool for doing frame alignment?......key chain would work too...
  7. Thanks for sharing...glad to see the water is going down....
  8. If you can get a fuse block I would use it......otherwise in the old days they did not use many....My P12 had a main fuse on the headlight switch...I now have 8 fuses and a fusable link from the battery....
  9. From what I am seeing i would rewire the car....just did my 41 and i was not as bad as that....pretty straight forward job...did mine from scratch as there was no kits available. Good luck
  10. Racks...........thats what boadacious girls have.....or am I wrong......they do "lift" (my interest) and "hoist" ...well you get it....
  11. I would say you are both right.....I am sure there are people who would look at how you are moving the vehicle up.....a lift moves the vehicle from underneath....a hoist is used to move the vehicle from the top. ie. overhead crane.....terminoligy is a wonderful thingy.....is it a spanner or combination wrench?
  12. Secret audio......under the seat
  13. Steve....I am experiencing the same problem....I put the old style driveshaft back in and vibration went away.....the new drive shaft will be going out for balancing soon. Hopfully the vibration will go away....If not I will be looking at the input and output angles...Always something when you try to update these old girls.....
  14. Yuck....the rest of the engine will be just like that or worse.....might be looking for a major tear down......then run synthetic oil.....15/50 mobile 1
  15. Disc brake conversion better way to go....front end very well built, just add a bigger sway bar.
  16. I have just updated the driveshaft on the 41 P12...took out the original and build a modern u-joint shaft....do I have to change the pinion angle.... Reason for asking is the vibration I am getting around 55 mph.....for some reason I feel the diff pinion is in line with the output of the trany....Conventional u-joint must have an angle...... Can anyone enlighten me.....
  17. I have found that when in doubt call the oil company...ie ESSO....they have a tech department that can give you the straight goods...... You must use an oil that is compatible with brass parts...
  18. Fires, floods, earthquakes.....getting scary Thoughts go out to all who are affected
  19. I saw the problem from the 3rd picture.....your steering box is on the wrong side......;-)
  20. Sure hope you are above the high water line....how far are you from Winnipeg?
  21. Just run the 6 volt starter on 12 volts....spins like crazy and no harm done
  22. It is obvious that either the flange or the u-joint are wrong.....was that how you got it?
  23. The shift linkage with the threaded rod adjusts the 1st rev shift....make sure you have no play in the adjustment.....you should also look at the linkage on the steering column...maybe it is wore and not moving the linkage far enough...
  24. Tim...is this something you want to part with?
  25. Been caught in the rain a few times last year.....won't go out if it is raining....vacumn wipers do not work that well....so now have electric.....let it rain!!!!
