  1. It's only been driven less than a mile because that was into a trailer. Thats why it can sit in traffic all day and not run either. Bob
  2. Might sound stupid, but if u think it is under hood temp. causing problem, why not pull the hood off and see if problem persists? Not that hard to do. Just a thought. Bob
  3. I put a '99 ford explorer rear end in my '52 Wayfarer. Have to move the spring perches. I got posi and disc brakes. Also got 4:10 gear. Wished I had gotten 3:73 or 3:50. Bob
  4. Jason Welcome to the forum. I'm south of you a bit in Va. Beach. I have a '52 dodge wayfarer. I've still got original 230 in it, but have switched to 5 speed, Explorer rear, rack and pinion, disk brakes etc. I have a lot parts left over . PM me if u are in need of anything. Bob
  5. Not sure where u are located, but Royal Silver in Norfolk, Va. does very nice work. They are a bit pricey. Bob
  6. Bob, glad u and family were not hurt in the tornado. House, cars, etc. can be replaced. I live in hurricane territory, but tornados are more frightening to me. There is very little warning and they are so unpredictable. Good luck. Bob
  7. How about that! We're ALL rich! What a C.O.S.! Bob
  8. Google "Patchboy". I believe the oval stems are for a ford p.u. truck. They are bolt on and work well on my Dodge 15" rims. Bob
  9. I have skirts for my '52 dodge. They came from Agape, and had some fairly useless attaching hardware for the bottom corners. I did as Claybill said and used a piece of fuel hose on the top attaching piece. This applies a little pressure to hold it tight as well cuts down on rubbing. I then pulled the bottom in as tight as i could to body and drilled a hole from bottom up through skirt and into bottom edge of fender. It is drilled straight up so you cannot see it from side of car. They fit good this way and they're not coming off. I used self tapping screws. Bob
  10. Check the seat guides. The ball bearing may have come out of one of them. Bob
  11. I had to rebuild mine on my '52 Dodge. There are 2 sizes, 5/8 and 5/16. Can't remember how many of each. I got mine from local bearing house. Had to bag of each, but was not a budget buster. Bob
  12. I had to get oval stems for my Dodge. Got them from Patchboy. www.patchboy.com Bob
  13. Good deal. I have 2 grand sons and 2 grand daughters, and there,s nothing like them. Congratulations to you and family! Bob
  14. Tod, You lost me after "I guess I'm too much of a computer nerd..." Bob
  15. Not sure about 4 speed bell housing. I got a modified bell housing from Langdon Stovebolt. I also got the T5 trans and dual intake, dual carter webers, and dual exhaust from him also. Bob
  16. Really coming along nice! I like it. Bob
  17. Might sound stupid, but start it up at night and open hood to see if u have wires arcing. Bob
  18. I went to a car show today in Hertford, N.C. A buddy of mine was there and he knew I had a 52 Wayfarer. He drives a model A hot rod and some guy approached him at the 7-11 and started talking cars. He said he had a 49 dodge wayfarer convertible for sale for $1000. He gave my buddy a piece of paper with 2 phone #s and the word "rusty" on it. I don't know if rusty is his name or condition of car. Anyway, if anyone is interested the #s are 757 615 7872 and 757 426 0979. The guy lives in Pungo, va. which is southern Virginia Beach. Bob
  19. Got what? Bob
  20. Prayers and thoughts with Tony's family. R.I.P. Bob
  21. U can have the one out of my 52 Wayfarer if u want it. It is overall 2 3/16" long. Bolt head is 3/4'. Shaft size is 9/16" and threaded part is 5/8"long with 9/16" nut. If u want it pm me with ur address. I am in Virginia Beach, Va. Bob
  22. Yeah, it was a relief. You ride along all pckered up waiting for the thing to start missing. The level of trust is on the rise! Thanks Bob
  23. Took the Dodge out yesterday for about 40 mile ride. Did fine. There was a fair amount of traffic on part of the ride, so it got the temp. up to good operating temp Bob
  24. Merle...Changing the gauge did not solve the problem. The liquid filled gauge was giving me a false reading. Before changing the gauge, i had changed fuel pumps, both elec. and mech. I had changed filters, tanks, tank locations, etc. I did have a problem initially, and somwhere along the line I solved the problem. The faulty liquid gauge just did not let me know I had solved the problem. The gauge was showing decreasing fuel pressure, and I was shutting the car off when it started to show declining pressure so I wouild not have to prime the carbs to restart.. If I had let it run it would have shown Zero on gauge, but would not have cut off. I hope I am not confusing everyone. I am only saying that the dry gauge gave me a true pressure reading and the liquid filled gauge did not. Thanks Bob
  25. NO!...My problem is solved. Somwhere along the line it got fixed. I just don't know when or what fixed it. I am just passing along the info. for others to put in the memory bank about the fuel pressure. I know what fixed the rough run after 1/2 hour or so. It was the new coil....If it turns out I'm wrong, i will come back and let u know, butfor now these are two relatively inexpensive fixes when all elsef fails. Bob
