  1. Hi Ed check ur pm. Bob
  2. I got mine from Agape Auto, www.agapeautoparts.com They are steel. I have a '52 dodge. Also, Big Jims makes fiber glass as do several others. Do a search for fender skirts to get some mounting tips. Bob
  3. I should have said mine was for a '52 Dodge Wayfarer. I used the same length for each fender. Bob
  4. I just recieved some stainless trim that I orderd from an outfit called Max Merit Auto. They make stainless for Packards, but it can be used on anything. They offer 1" or 3/4" with pointed tip, offset pointed tip, or squared. Also offer 1/2" in pointed or square. Their site says $10.00 per foot and $10.00 per end, but it is slightly higher than that. I got 4 pieces, 52.5" each ,of 3/4 pointed for $70.00 per piece. Also got 24 fasteners for $24.00. Shipping was about $30.00. May be a little pricey. but is nice stainless. I was afraid it would not bend to the contour of the fender, but it is going to work fine. Nice people to deal with on phone is a bonus. www.maxmerrittauto.com Also as info. If u decide to get any u need to measure distance between front and rear hole and add at least 4 inchs. The crimp for the clips doesn't start til about 1.5 inch in. Bob
  5. Congratulations on the great news! Bob
  6. Glad to hear the good news. Keep the spirit high. Good luck Bob
  7. Dan, You may want to go on ebay and look for Dodge shop manual or service manual. It has a section on body and should help with assembly. Bob
  8. Bob Looks like a nice project. I have some parts from my '52 wayfarer. I have converted to 5 speed, explorer rear, air bags etc. and many parts piled up in corner. I have front and rear springs with less than 200 miles. Have trans, rear end, steer box etc. Send me a pm if u need something that I may have. I am in Virginia Beach, Va. Bob
  9. Newest Ol Skol Rodz (apr/may 2012) has a tech article on this. Bob
  10. I've got nine 5/8 and probably fifty 5/16. I bought them to rebuild my seat runners. Let me know how many u need. Bob
  11. Tim The rear in my '52 wayfarer is not a banjo style. It has the rear cover. I think that is the Salisbury style. Also, believe it is 8.8" instead of 8". Car is at glass shop right now, so can't check id plate. Bob
  12. Sorry. I meant 1/2" too narrow. Getting old sucks sometimes. Bob
  13. I have a '52 Dodge Wayfarer. I used a '99 Explorer rear with posi and 4.10. The 4.10 is too low for me. Wish I had gotten a 3.55. Rear was 1/2 " too wide, so used 1/4" spacers and stock wheels. Bob
  14. I agree about the times table. My oldest grand son is in 8th grade and they have not been required to learn them. I challenged all 4 grand kids to call me when they learned times tables. I gave them a quick 15 problem quiz.. If they got all 15 I gave them $50.00. It is a matter of memorizing, but the two boys are too lazy to memorize the numbers. If you want a real eye opener, get them to count back change from an imaginary sale. I got an bunch of change and we practiced. When they started to understand and get why I wanted them to learn it, I let them keep the change. Without a calculator, they are lost. Bob
  15. I've got one that came out of my '52 Wayfarer. Lug nut to lug nut with new shoes and wheel cylinders. Pulled to put in Explorer rear. If interested let me know and I can measure for u. I'm in Virginia Beach, Va. Bob
  16. 8th vehicle in right row looks like a Willys as well as the Aero already mentioned. So, I would say 2. Bob
  17. I got the Service Manual for my '52 Dodge. It has a lot of info., but it doesn't have everything u need to know. It's definitely worth having, but it is not the silver bullet. This forum is probably the most helpful resource I have found. Bob
  18. Search "fuzzies" on this forum. Bob
  19. I just turned 65 in july and wife turned 65 in november. We are now on medi-care. I was also self employeed and had to carry my own insurance. I had Anthem-Blue Cross with $5000 deductible for each of us.My premium was $2709.00 per month. Both of us are in reasonably good health, but several years ago my wifes dr. made a note in her file that she had symptoms of a fairly dangerous disease. Ended up she didn't have it, but the note in the file screwed us. Before u apply for insurance, ask ur dr. if u have anything like this in ur file. These insurance companys are just looking for a reason to either drop you or run your premiums thru the roof if u are not perfect. We started at about $1100 per month and each year they raised it 400 or 500. Never thought I would wish my life away to get to 65, but it was a real relief on the wallet. Good luck Bob
  20. I've got a '52 Dodge. It looks like red oxide primer on it. Bob
  21. If you have never seen one run in person, you owe it to yourself to do so. You will be utterly amazed. Bob
  22. Thermadore?
  23. I went to Home Depot and bought a section of screen trim for a screen porch to cover screen staples and cut edges on a 4X4. I cut to length and trimed where needed. It comes in two pieces. You screw down the track and the finished piece snaps onto track. It works for a driver, and is a whole lot cheaper than $479. Bob
  24. Starting to cloud up now in Virginia Beach. I'm about 5 milesoff ocean front. My lot was originally 6 ft. above sea level. Brought enough fill and sand to get to 13 ft. and I'm on a 3 ft. crawl. Hope it's enough. I've fueled generator and all vehicles and got my '52 Wayfarer and '58 Ford in the garage. Got all the loose stuf up and stowed. Now it's just wait and see. Bob
  25. I'm in Virginia Beach about 1 mile from Oceana jet base. I thought it might be something at the base, but I didn't hear anything. It shook pretty good for about 10-15 seconds. Neighbor said shook a couple of pictures off the wall. I hope I don't get to experience 2 possible destructive forces of nature in the same week, what with Irene possibly heading this way. Bob
