  1. was just the grille redone, or the grille AND hood?
  2. I LOVE THAT SHOW! when did that even happen?
  3. if i had money, space, and time, i would DEFINATELY take that! i love the 1st gen job-rated!
  4. there's no motorcycle in there!
  5. does anybody know of any company that build mini flat 6 engines? they can be just a kit or running, but im having no luck finding anything in flathead but the ford V-8.

  7. might i suggest the truck side of the forum? you are currently on the car side, if you got to the upper right, by your user info, you will see "RETURN TO FORUM" click that, about 1/4 of the way down, you will see the truck link, right below the P15-D24 forum link.
  8. i knew that stupid elmer's crap from school worked for something!
  9. go find some speed bumps or a washboard road, and go nuts. that oughtta knock em' free!
  10. either that, or that evapo-rust that i was asking about here a few months back, that crap actually works GREAT!
  11. for only about $319.99! (they should be gold plated for that!) i replaced mine by modifying one from an F-250. it was about $45 total, and works much better than the old one, but some states wont allow any welded steering parts. i can give you info if you want that route, it is also adjustable.
  12. autozone has MC kits, i think it was around $15 or so. mine still works great!
  13. you know what, i never thought about it! i will have to try it on the 41' if it works, then i am officially NEVER DRINKING COKE AGAIN
  14. welcome to the group! i dont know about the kingpins kits, but i do know about the steering. how long was this truck sitting? mine sat for about 30 years and was pretty stiff anyways. try jacking up the front end, then try it. the pins & links are generally stiff after sitting awhile. have you checked the joints? my shaft between the gearbox & right wheel was toast, made a new one, steers like new! good luck!
  15. trust me merle, if my father would let me, it would have been here months ago. right now, we are cleaning house (and garages) im just working on this one to build up and mothball as a spare, as it is such a universal engine.
  16. well, the block is decent, so thats why i keeping it.
  17. every part of this engine is stuck, valves, cam(was), lifters.
  18. look at it this way: i have an entirely stuck engine, where every part, even the rod caps, were a fight. these tappets are STUCK, they dont move at all. those things are not moving
  19. if you did this with any modern car, it would be totaled! the new ones are made of toilet paper, while all of ours are just plain steel! SAFETY MY ***!
  20. most of the retainers are off already, but i cannot figure out how to hit on the tappets with the cam in the way!
  21. the cam is most important (but questionable), and the tappets are sacrifice-able. i tried the acetone-ATF, it wasnt worth the time to make it, it just evaporated too quickly to work.
  22. i know for sure that driver side, last 3 inches in the back are GONE, about a 8"x8" hole where the cab-fender bolts would be, and most holes up front are questionable. the passenger side isn't far behind. i could patch em' myself, but my welder wont touch sheet metal. that, and i suck at it.
  23. does anybody have a halfway decent pair of front fenders to fit my 53' 1/2 ton? i have mine, but they are badly rotted at all mounting points!
  24. well, it is difficult to pound on the tappets with the cam in the way! i have heated the entire block red hot to get the pistons out, which worked for that, except melting #1 piston!
  25. how would i remove the cam with most of the tappets stuck in place where they are? i tried to turn them with a wrench, but no luck. the cam does move, but it is stuck on the tappets that stick up. this motor was full of water for about 5-10 years, so...
