  1. i dunno about 39-47, the 41' is 250 miles away, but the 53' is about 58" door to door, with the column shifter.
  2. i dont think we as humans make good pumps for anything, i think we make less than 1/2 LB vacuum, and 2 lbs pressure.
  3. yeah, thats kinda what i was thinking, but didnt want to say anything. it would still be kinda cool, though.
  4. when reading the post about an engine and chassis, i had an idea. a lot of people on the forum are willing to donate parts and money to either the forum or others in need, why not see if we can build a truck entirely of parts from the forum, mainly donated, and then either make a museum piece out of it or auction it off to assist in funding to run the forum! i thought it was a good idea (probably because its mine:D) what do you guys think?
  5. first of all, whereabouts are you and the chassis?
  6. sorry to kinda hijack this but have you gotten any of my messages merle?
  7. i dont think the pump itself is different, but the fitting on top is.
  8. i was debating going tubeless radials on my old rims, but i am concerned about the rivets that hold the rims together and how to prevent them from leaking? am i better off to just put tubes in or use tubeless? the rims are in good shape, but probably not good enough for tubeless. i have no intentions of painting the rims, as i like the "jacked up" look of my truck, with its rust holes and multi-color front end.
  9. 1: get the 53' legally on the road 2: get the 41' driving 3: lose at least 10 more lbs 4: make flathead dual exhausts
  10. ow! is it just plain broken, or is there some paralysis involved? either way, that sucks dude!
  11. it may not be an industrial engine, but it is an industrial manifold modified to run upside-down (from it's original mounting) these had updraft carbs and stack exhausts. it was likely to have been a kinda hotrod modification combining a combine and car, supplying any truth to the seller's story.
  12. if anybody has questions, just send me a message! im generally on here about once a day at least!
  13. i always thought mine was so butt-ugly that it was cool looking, especially with all the front sheet metal in different colors!
  14. how far back was awhile? i posted it on the tech archives, but nobody showed interest. now for the actual info: -THESE DRUMS WILL WORK FINE WITH ORIGINAL BRAKE EQUIPMENT, SHOES AND ALL. -THEY MAY NEED SOME SHIMS TO SPACE THEM OUT FROM THE BACK PLATE -SHIMS TO INCREASE DIAMETER OF SPINDLE WILL BE REQUIRED, I WILL NOT PROVIDE MEASUREMENTS, AS THEY MUST BE FINE, DOWN TO THE THOUSANDTH -THE SPINDLE SHIMS MUST BE VERY SMOOTH AS TO PREVENT SEAL WEAR -THE SPINDLE MUST BE SHORTENED TO PROVIDE FOR THE NEW CAP AND NARROWER DRUM(S) -DRUMS ARE AVAILABLE AT: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200323378_200323378 FYI: THESE DRUMS MAY BE SLIGHTLY OUT OF ROUND, YOU MAY COMPENSATE IN ADJUSTMENT AND LIVE WITH IT, OR YOU CAN HAVE THEM RE-MACHINED. I WILL TAKE PICS NEXT TIME I REMOVE A WHEEL.
  15. I HAVE FOUND CHEAPER REPLACEMENTS! northern tool trailer drums work great with some shims.
  16. how can you see peeing in a pet suit as fun? thats just creepy!
  17. the name basically came from the 7-window cabs with their improved visibility from the corner windows. the name kinda tended to stick with the whole group, 5 or 7 window!
  18. i just got done with that yesterday, works great!
  19. well thats a nice way to put it...
  20. how about this one on the right of the photo?
  21. never quite did figure out if its worth it!
  22. anybody ever heard of MCCULLOCH superchargers? they were originally used on kaiser FLATHEAD SIX engines, just running off of a v-belt, having most of the controls internally.
  23. if nothing else, these would seem to be pretty universal for our trucks. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/subcategory_Brake-Hydraulics_-49997377_13557_10151_10051_-1___?x=0&y=0&zoneAssigned=1
  24. exactly what "lights" issue are you speaking of? also, what is wrong with your stock brake pedal system? my 2/3 stock system works great!
  25. i am actually looking into this for the 53' 1/2 tonner, engine questions get more answers over here, especially mods. the only reason i look into this is the fact that there are a LOT of people that dont know how to drive around here, and it would be a hell of a lot easier to get things done with just a little more power.
