  1. just how different are the older to the newer doors? i would love to have some vent-window doors, but i have a 53'
  2. i have kinda been debating switching my truck from the standard 3-on-the-tree to a stick, and was wondering what vehicles would make a good donor for the top of the trans. were there any other vehicles with similar bolt-up transmission lids, or just the 1/2 ton PH?
  3. honestly, i would rather drop in a 431 L-6 than a V-8.
  4. got a few questions on dual exhausts before i embark on any big project. first of all, is it really worth the time to make it? i was debating just welding one up out of stainless, seeing as i have the resources. the other question: what does it do to the starting, run-ability, and fuel economy? thanks, josh.

  6. im gonna take that as a "no".
  7. no, THAT is what you get when you smoke dog sh1t on a regular basis!
  8. try ACE hardware, they usually have what i need.
  9. i know, i already have tried it out for the last few months the truck has driven on its own! sometimes i cant even get it at stop! i would kinda like to get the stickshift setup for it someday...
  10. plywood seems to work fine to me!
  11. still never managed gettin first when im moving. stupid plain gear!
  12. dunno how much i lost, i recently changed the oil after finding some crap in it, probably some old sludge or something. whatever it is, its insignificant. my father is just requesting that i try to fix it. he is accustomed to new vehicle that always start and dont leak and you never pop the hood, so you see where that goes.
  13. this is for the forum member located in the kenosha wisconsin area who donated to me his old fenders off of his father's truck through our friends, the VonNeumans. i do not know your name, only your whereabouts and your gift. i must really thank you, as those were to be one of the worst parts to find with my limited funds. once again, thank you, Josh.
  14. i dunno, on a closer look, it looks like front and back seals are leaking. it made about a 3" puddle in all the time it has sat in the garage, about a year in total now. i only question the pan because it is badly pitted on the bottom.
  15. it seems i need a new oil pan for the truck, as this one seems to be weeping from everywhere below the bottom sump area. does anybody know where to get a new or NOS one? VPW only has used, for $55 each. i have a hard time buying something used i cant even see a picture of, especially for $55.

  17. that engine is a regular run-of-the-mill industrial. every industrial engine i find has a setup like that. most likely from a massey harris combine, thus the updraft carb and stack up front, as the engine is down below the right side, behind the front wheel. look up massey harris super 26 for a better pic.
  18. i myself HATE revving 4-stroke engines up, especially past 3600. i am basically looking for simple low-end improvements. the milled head would definately help out, and i have a spare head laying around. dual headers would be nice, too.
  19. ah, thank you. that was it. puttin the carb back on the truck tomorrow, itl be ready to go some more once i fix the temp gauge.
  20. i was working on rebuilding my carb, single carter, and some tiny ball fell out of somewhere, not the accelerator pump ball, as its still there, where would it come from?
  21. maybe...
  22. cheap is right! i almost broke one with just a stripped 230 on there!
  23. it is kinda sad to see that some people think its perfectly fine to just go and take your hard-earned belongings.
  24. its probably because we all know that the insurance companies would use that as an excuse WAY too often, and jip out the people that really need it that actually blow a tire on the road and flip, even if they are under control. it basically just creates another loophole for more crooks.
  25. this may not be automotive related, but still kinda funny from a few years ago. i went to the local rec plex, a gym/track/pool/indoor game court, etc. to use the pool. there were no locks on the lockers, so some LITTLE **** STOLE MY UNDERPANTS, they left all my other money and clothes in the locker!
