  1. im thinking that's why mine is messed up, the thing's entire front clip is at an angle.
  2. i dont know who else is into model railroading, but i have been looking for one of these things for years and just when i try to get out, i find one! i myself thought it was cool...
  3. i was thinking of making a brush guard for the 53, what would one of the originals look like? i dunno why i want one, but if i can build it and have the materials, then why not?
  4. go find another crap motor and weld on the bottom of the engine back together. in the meantime, HOLY CRAP! hate to hear the sounds that motor made in it's last moments...
  5. ditto. later
  6. anybody know exactly what that truck is or where it was taken? the short frame looks similar to mine, but for all i know, thats standard!
  7. we have 1 cat, and the thing has no personality whatsoever. we never see it, its always sleeping somewhere. it eats less than 1/2 bowl a day, but somehow craps about 4-5 times daily, and stinks up the whole f%$king basement! we come home from vacation, and we dont even see the little turd for hours after that, and even after that he may as well just flip you off! ungrateful little ****!
  8. i have some little japanese thing right now, its the same OD as the original generator. i was thinking of finding a larger generator and stuffing it insid, or maybe i will just paint it...
  9. they are ironically the exact same small size as the tiny japanese alternator i am using. 3.75" OD. nice. maybe i will just paint it, but it still wont go well, the truck is mainly the "fresh from the field" look
  10. its more the alternator than anything else, it used the original bracketry with some spacers added, works great, just uglier than a chimp's ***!
  11. does anybody have any ideas for disguising alternators to look a little "nicer" merle saw how crappy all my little mods look, i myself HATE seeing anything out of place under the hood, especially the stupid plastic overflow tank, working on that, though. now, is there any cheap way to make the F!@#ING ALTERNATOR LOOK DECENT? this is for the truck, but the engines are similar.

  13. dont tell me you got that from south park!
  14. ah... mine has kinda a bolt-type hex on top, a little more of a pain-in-the-butt, but it works.
  15. okay, will car windshields interchange? im kinda grabbing for straws here, the free mcdonalds ones at that! so far i have lost the better part of my already small income, so i gotta cut back.
  16. i dunno about the PCV, thats just emissions stuff to me, but lets not start an argument on that! i think full flow oil systems and modern filters would make these engines just as good if not better than any "off the lot" turd you would buy today! i think i will mount the filter for looks with some fake lines, maybe i could clean it out and use it for a toolbox! good for sparkplugs and whatnot that needs to stay dry!
  17. possibly. what does the top of yours look like? still, are these worth using in a bypass system?
  18. got an old cartridge type FRAM filter with my other truck, and seeing as it's new engine already has it, im thinking of using it on the pickup. what is the sticker supposed to say? are filters still made for these? is it even worth my time to hookup, or should it just be for looks?
  19. nice! i happen to be harboring one of these said 504 heaters in my pickup. worked from the day i got it! what are these things worth anyways? i dont want to sell it, but im curious.
  20. to each their own. i prefer the "fresh from the farm" look
  21. how about a flexible dryer duct from menards? they sell different sizes, but they are metal, so you would want to paint them.
  22. in this case, how would one flush the system to replace the fluids? run some kind of cleaner through that will evaporate when you're done?
  23. yeah, where are you? im always looking for more parts! especially engines...
  24. go get yourself a new carb base gasket, you wouldnt believe how much those have pissed me off over the years! to try that, you could just use some gasket sealer on it and try it.
  25. found this radio on the local craigslist if anybody's interested. labeled as MOPAR-832 http://racine.craigslist.org/pts/2178172818.html
