  1. x3 for short cranks (which is all it needs!), it couldnt care less!
  2. okay, is dinner for the farmer an adequate price for a paperless truck? although, he does certainly like to eat...
  3. as much as i would like a legit title, wisconsin has literally made it impossible to get a title for anything vintage. i almost think i would get in less trouble keeping it on the backroads and just driving it around than trying to get the papers...
  4. thats my question, their legality. i can interpret your answer to it being illegal, but these are sold as intended for use on hobbyist cars, regardless of legality. i still honestly think they're too good to be true, but who in their right mind would pay $100 for a title that is unusable and only can be hung on a wall?
  5. how many speeds does the trans have? looks like it might not fit our PH trucks for some odd reason... i may still be interested in the radiator for my 41', any chance you could get some measurements?
  6. does anybody know about those guys you see at car shows selling titles for $100 apiece? my 41' has no title, and the PO is long gone. i talked to the DMV a few weeks ago, and apparently they make you trace every owner back to the dealer now, which is impossible for a 70 year old workhorse, so now these titles you buy are looking pretty good. does anybody know about these or their legality? for $100, it does seriously sound too good to be true...

  8. call me wrong, but i think its silver, isnt it?
  9. i might be interested in having a spare trans around, depending on what it is, and the 41' will likely need a radiator. maybe if somebody wants to split? i don't think my dad would be happy with any more engines around...
  10. i dunno, i kinda like the idea of a "general knowledge" section, where these things could be addressed. or at the very least, a spec list on a sticky
  11. for the tach or the conversion circuit? i made one for the circuit, but dont have it now. i have no idea on the tach itself, i just built around it
  12. a jeep cherokee rear end is nearly a perfect swap. if you find a 2WD they sometimes even have posi!
  13. if you notice, the inner ring has a welded seam on it, maybe if you carefully cut it with a dremel, you could separate them!
  14. i myself would keep the stock engine at the least. once you get one running well, they will purr like kittens (which i am yet to hear a kitten purr, but you get the point) i myself think that the newer chassis ruins the personality of the truck, but if you are using it for highway or something of that sort i can see it. the stock setup is a little of a handful, but even just that 100 HP is still more fun than most v-8's in modern cars. it's just my 2 cents worth. FYI: there are ways to make the old powertrain more road friendly, such as rear end & trans swaps. if you want to learn anything on the rear end swap, send me something! i did it to my truck, and wouldn't turn back! has stock 218 with 3 on the tree.
  15. i think the stock redline is about 3600, they sound like their coming apart at only about 1800, but 3000 is the "safe line" as i would call it. i got a tachometer out of a p51-mustang on my truck! all electronic, run off the points once you make some circuitry. it's called a weston AC-42 tach. top speed:3500 redline:2800-2900. search "tachometer" in the search bar here, and you may find some helpful postings
  16. not sure about whether they are truck ones, but they look cool enough to buy and hang on the wall
  17. strangely, im having more luck finding plymouth ones than dodge! there were 2-3 at jefferson and none for dodge!
  18. hi everybody! i have all four original dogdish hubcaps for my truck, but they are mostly missing the back ring that actually holds them on due to rotting away. does anybody have any good ways to repair these? they have a relatively good face, so i would kinda like to save em'. im posting this on the car side too because your caps are kinda similar in design sometimes. thanks, josh

  20. yep, unless this is a big truck thats how it works
  21. BTW: does anybody have any tips for removing the grille? my original just kinda falls off where bolts are supposed to be, but im hoping the one im going after actually stays structurally sound...
  22. does anybody know if the grille off the PH bus about 2.5 tonner in the previous post has a grille that will interchange with a 1/2 tonner? i know the radiator is different, but im using an aftermarket anyways. the owner of the yard said $50 for the grille, so...
  23. does anybody still need parts from it? im gonna be heading out there sometime soon to go grab the grille shell, hopefully thats universal. the fenders are still very sound with no holes, it still has all the gages except the fuel gage:D. if anybody is around that wants some parts off it, then come on out and we can play fetch. i would guess the fenders about $50 apiece, but thats only a guess.
  24. i might just have to build a manifold...
  25. no, cant get the manifold. i was hunting around in the local yard, saw someting metal laying inside the rotting pile that was once a seat in some chrysler straight-8 car, and there it was, whatever it is. it's some odd 90-degree 2 barrel carb, looks really cool.
