  1. those little tykes smiles are truly sincere.....bully for you....?
  2. a guy locally has had one in his back yard for years...it is uncovered as far as a roof goes....his pump unit is in a weather resistant cubby with door....the cables are well lubed with grease for protection...and also the town next to me has an outdoor lift by their facility that has been there since I can recall. Personally I find 13 foot about the basic acceptable ceiling height for a 4 post work/storage lift.
  3. I agree...not something I would do and I even have an old hearse here that would the perfect theme-machine....but he started the job, saw it through, plenty of body, interior and even mechanical work accomplished.....that's a thumbs up in itself...at least it is not a rat rod......man has a few buck in paint supplies.....
  4. this was recently added to the register of little cars....Morris Minor 2 door Saloon....slight alterations if you look close.....lol Maybe or maybe not someone here would appreciate the theme and the work involved to finish it out.... 1959 Morris Minor 1000 (677622) : Registry : The Morris Minor Forum
  5. cantankerous old fart see mack's post above......I suppose one could say craft old fool also....among a few others that come to mind....
  6. if you playing with that close of a tolerance...I hope you have a limiter switch on the lift to protect a few roofline and the ceiling itself. That is going to be close I think and remember...you need to go up a bit to lock and unlock the lift...my Plymouth business coupe with 225/70R16's is sitting 65.5 inches proud. This should relate close to stock bias ply if so equipped...
  7. hey folks, thanks for reading the page and showing concern...I wish to report I still have what little hair I have still in place on my scalp...but it was looking dangerously closer to departing for sure. I have parts that still are not here...the shipping departments are not at all up to speed anymore and the trucking companies seem even worse. So I am in the yard working to gain control of two areas that went wild with weeds and undergrowth this past year. Hot time to be out there....but it has to get done sometime...
  8. I first thought that with that very look I had somehow toggled it to mobile device....I searched every facet of the forum pages with no luck...then I happened to roll over the magnifier and saw the screen magnification level....tweak it down....I hope not to go through this again...and even more, if I do I hope I can recall the fix....lol NOTE TO SELF when rolling from one alert to another lift left finger from mouse button....
  9. front bearing is not a hard to do install...but if you ready to upgrade...this may be the very shove you need in that direction.....many like to keep them 6 volt and such...that is fine if you do not want other creature comforts...sure you can get step up power unit...but I wonder how many actually see the input to output ratio and loss of power and tax on the generator.
  10. would probably be a guess on their part also...contact the company you got it from, surely Langdon has this info and once you get that, write it down and place in the glovebox or other safe place you can remember putting it. I am assuming this is the 4 pin macaroni shaped module you speak of... Ignition Module For GM Hei 8 & 6 Cylinders All Cars And Trucks 75-88 LX301 (743) | eBay
  11. I assure you knuckle is not alone with that title...he is in good company as well as they are with him....somebody has to do the job..!!
  12. as an added, Carl informed me he has not had the time to study this further....I know well how that is at times....
  13. there is a tiny icon of a magnifying glass with a plus on it....somehow I toggled that and it amplified my page to where it would not display all my headers on the same page....I got icons and stuff I had never seen before....freaked my chicken to say the least.....I tripped all over the website looking for a toggle...nothing....I cleared the cache, I reloaded the browser....I was close to downloading double ought buck onto the thing....it happened as I was toggling from your PM to a PM from the Swedish member..
  14. I use my computer for sure....there are usually no less than 20 and usually closer to 30 open tabs at all times....until I fat fingered and toggled the magnification....all was well....
  15. crisis averted.....I figured I did something.....I now have it back to normal....somehow I toggled the zoom feature and it enlarged to the fact it could not display on a single page...
  16. clearing cache cookies and all that stuff had no change...still not displaying like before....
  17. did we just get a new page layout or did I toggle something I cannot undo....I have tried everything to get back to the home page where all the different pages are listed, my profile name is at top right and all I am getting is a stream option page of some sort. HELP ME MR WIZARD
  18. I had to read this again....per what I am doing on two cars right now....I read UP-DATING my wife 35 years ago.....apologies to momma
  19. given the 5 speed in OD is .72 and the axle is 4.1 the new FD in OD will be 2.95 a HUGE improvement...
  20. often times in my replies I forget some folks do not have a wrecking yard that will grant them access to the wrecked/salvaged/disposed vehicles.....this often places these folks at a disadvantage and they are mainly dependent on other folks blazing a trail. While I have done a number of rear gear swaps for the old cars....I have not not messed with truck as such...issue as listed will be valid for both car and truck. I wish I could state a make and model for you but I just have no first hand with truck specific. Trust me in some of my other cars I work where you may have the only example for a couple hundred mile radius....getting data for such as this is quite exasperating at time.....and the forums for these model cars often need a sympathy card sent as they are basically dead for all practical purposes. I often feel the owners of these cars have pretty much peaked in age and have limited their wrenching greatly. Parts are slim, information is limited and many that had done this in the past probably do not respond as it has been so long they unsure of the involvement and thus rather than confuse or report wrongly, the question is never addressed.
  21. difference between dreams and reality is often a bit of human intervention...do your part....determine your bolt pattern, centric register, axle measurements and keep in mind if you wish to retains stock wheels you need flange to flange to match. Then, go for a walk in the wrecking yard with your tape measure. Now keep in mind it is not just as simple as that, once a candidate has been located, spring perches, shock and driveshaft to pinion may well be an issue. Even if you do not get this done, the thrill of the search will be fun and keep you busy a bit.
  22. simply put, it involves ,more than a keypad and two thumbs...
  23. check condenser......
  24. I'm disappointed, NOT going bluetooth and get an app to operate the choke from your smart phone......?
