  1. Thanks, I'll add that to Rev3 Heading to Cali for Thanksgiving tomorrow, here is the latest.... EVERYONE BE SAFE and ENJOY HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!! Engine AssemblyStart-Up Check List.pdf
  2. Or a quick comment to bring it back to the top, if it gets buried before getting an answer!
  3. I don't think a 1950 came with seatbelts, 48 did not ?
  4. If you are using Windows 10, I have found the same problem, you can rotate them but when you post or download to a program they were not saved. If you crop the photo, even ever so slightly and save or save a copy, that seems to work.
  5. WHAT, YOU DON'T TRUST ME? LOL ? Yes those were the days huh, used to sit around waiting for Hemmings Motor News to show up, and start scanning for any AD that was new. All this was pre-real-internet (I think we had dial-up back then) (and I'm guessing old Norm did not have a website), you paid for something and then once they actually got it in a box and prepped it for shipping then they knew how much it cost, simpler times.
  6. Complete valve job done at the shop, will add; Crankshaft belt drive pulley/vibration damper, water pump belt pulley going to keep the fan off for a test run, (already missing some fingers!) I like that idea! Complete valve job done at the shop, will add; torque set the manifolds and install heat riser spring, still need to hot tank the manifolds and oil pan. Definitely was not implying that, but spark plugs, yeah kinda dumb to miss that!! This is exactly why I put the question out there Block was hot tanked and cleaned, need to check on the threads, freeze plugs and oil plugs installed at the shop. Did forget to "Paint the Block" THANKS FOR THE INPUT!!!
  7. 1991, Norms Antique Auto Supply in Iowa, $31.00 ?
  8. SPARK PLUGS, We don't need no stinking spark plugs! Dang - That may have been obvious when the time came. Why do I feel like I am going to feel really stupid after all the comments?
  9. I remembered it but did not remember to put it on my list but I certainly will, thank you That's exactly what I'm looking for, I tend to overlook the obvious sometimes
  10. Nice, I have one too, but the mice got to the jute backing and messed it up, rubber is un-scathed though. Needs a bit of cleaning!
  11. Got everything together, almost ready to start the build of my engine. NEVER done this before, made a check list! PLEASE those with experience, tell me if you see any thing I am missing, Want to do this once ONLY! I have read everything and anything I could find. Here is the test start check list. (any dimensions for a wooden stand to hold the engine for a test start?)
  12. Curious, what was the reason for a new driveshaft? Did you need to change the length?
  13. Picked up the block, head and crankshaft today, everything looks great, had the following done; Hot Tank Block, Magna Flux Block, Bead Blast Block, Bore/Hone Block (0.030) Deck Block (0.006), Check Main Bore Distortion, Stamp Main Bearing Caps, R&R Cam Bearings, Freeze Plugs & Oil Plugs, R&R Valve Guides, Valve Job, Hot Tank Crankshaft, Polish Crankshaft, Bead Blast Head, Mill Head (0.006), Recondition Rod Big Ends, R&R Pin Bushings. Time to stock up on propane for the shop heater. I remember when we used to do this in the living room (motorcycles). Unloading and attaching to engine stand..... Ready for work.....
  14. Thought I would share some of the information sent with the gasket set.....
  15. End of October, Engine parts arrived..... Mack, has to part of everything, especially a box, I hear him upstairs having his way with the gasket shipping box! And block was about done, dropped off NOS Crankshaft and Head to be hot tanked and polished / machined (head had rust). Gaskets arrived today.....
  16. I have one for a short bed one ton that I've been keeping, just seems sad to throw it away. Right, I may not ever find the rightful owner but you never know, stranger things have happened.
  17. Also looking into the Pertonix Ignition Conversion, I have seen bits on here about them, seem to most all be positive? Should increase reliability and avoid that aspect of tune-ups. Any comments?

  20. This brings us to the end of roughly 1995, and at this point life changes (woman) and work tends to taper off, who am I kidding, work ceases! Added some rubber and wooden supports to prevent water pooling on the tarp that she gets draped in. There she sat, moved to Divide, Colorado in 1998, some time (maybe a year) after that, drove back to California and picked it up. Sat in Divide til 2012 when I moved to Florissant, Colorado, sat there until 2020. After selling the Subaru, Jeep, Van, Willys and Attex 6 wheeler, decided to start back up. Found this Forum, and the rest is history (or at least posted here). ? Here are links to what I have done so far in 2020..... License Plate Restoration Redoing Brake Cylinders Block - Machine Shop So, now we are up to date on this thread.
  21. Cab interior and engine bay was shot with PPG Deltron Acrylic Urethane..... Trim pieces (originals on bottom), Dodge scripts and a new(er) Ram minus the bullet holes..... Lots of spare hardware, primered and ready to go.
  22. Time for the bed sheet metal, this is a bit ugly..... Bed sides dismantled..... Stake pocket repairs..... Different 'working positions' for metal straightening..... It is coming together..... Reworked bolt washers..... Rear fenders, also ugly..... Getting better.....
  23. Seat frame primered and ready for installation.....
  24. A rusted out (cancer) area on the seat surround..... Cancer removed..... Replacement piece fabbed..... Welded in place..... Cleaned up...... Primered..... I keep saying, "I'm going to buy a wire feed welder", just never get to it.
  25. A little repair work was needed on this fender, the standard 'rust-out' spot..... From a donor basket case fender..... Cannot find photos of the end result? A little lead work on the top of the fender..... That's my spare front clip, ended up with quite a few spares!
