  1. Well if they hadn't written it in cursive LOL
  2. Yes, tanks inc is wrong. Your rides uses a thermostatic gauge, not an electromagnetic one, Essentially, your gauge has two heated bumetallic strips inside that controls the needle by varying the readings based on the two inputs from the sending unit. Without both inputs the gauge doesn't work properly. With the more common, today, electromagnetic setup it uses one magnetic field and a spring. The spring wants to move it to zero, the field wants to move it away from zero based on the strength of the magnetic field. 3. Not sure when MoPar went to mounted the upper shock mount to the frame, rather than the upper control arm. Many have relocated that mount to the frame to improve shock performance. There are a number of threads here detailing what people have done. For myself, I just got the collapsed and extended length numbers from the stock shock then perused Speedway Motors online catalog using those numbers as the search criteria. I was able to find a set of modern gas charged performance shocks that fit the stock shock location after I drilled out the mounting bushings from 1/2" to 5/8". A substantially improved setup, imo. Is it as optimal as relocating the upper mount and using a similar shock in that setup? Nope, it it much better, yes. As for the steering, others mentioned tie rods, yes they wear so inspect and replace as needed. Another spot to check is the steering box mounting bolts. two of mine were loose.
  4. Not necessarily, if the pedal ratio is correct then the effort is similar, but the travel is increased. I had a manual disc brake Dart that had nice pedal effort, but it was a factory setup properly designed. With the pedal ratio and M/C bore diameter balanced. However, in a setup like the OP's you are constrained by the existing design and that can cause pedal effort issues. Especially is you go with a M/C bore diameter that is too large.
  5. I went to sleep early. Just another say in my life.
  6. You are welcome. The linked source was a bit slow getting mine to me, but I got it. I have not installed it yet so no idea if it's as quality as it seems, but being Toyota and from what others have said, I'll bet it is. I have GE LED headlights in my 51, this kit is going in my 65 Cuda.
  7. You would be better off going with this headlamp setup and putting 6 H4 bulbs in it https://www.amazon.com/OCTANE-LIGHTING-Halogen-Headlight-Headlamp/dp/B00GNTZ9SA
  8. Well, how bolts/screws hold tight is the stretch imparted via torque. Not enough and they loosen, which probably explains why all those darn Jeep 1bbl holleys kept loosening up on me, till I loc-tited them, I dunno.
  9. That's not even a torque spec, guess he meant in-oz? That works out to 1.5 in-lbs though with the high spec, way too low imo
  10. I usually put the video on You Tube and post a link here. For our YT challenged members, I'll host their video on my YT account.
  11. That's what lawnmowers are for, using up old oil. Lol. Chain bar oil in your chain saw, etc I would not use it in anything expensive
  12. So you are saying you do not want a roiling boil then? All you really need is some very hot water, if it's boiling profusely you won't see the float bubbling.
  13. Not too sure vintage powerwagons is going to be a source for a lot of stuff, not sure many PW's came with the Hemi. But, here's a link to a source for engine stuff. http://hothemiheads.com/dodge/index.html
  14. That is a fairly esoteric statement. Care to elucidate upon how it shows you where the hole is?
  15. She would be in the passenger seat, ducking and running LOL
  16. Wow that's a crowd. We only have eight at our place
  17. That is the truth. I came home from work once and my 51 was half in the road half in my driveway and I don't have a steep driveway at all. Well technically you can't get caught. LOL
  18. Somebody's got to say it. Merry Christmas to all y'all.
  19. With the engine running watch the ammeter turn on the headlights you should see the needle flick towards discharge momentarily until the generator catches up. Or turn the engine off turn the headlights on and the needle will go towards discharge
  20. It might behoove you to look at the hot rod industry they make a lot of trunk openers that are designed to be adapted to just about any application. Sometimes you get lucky and you can find later model parts that'll fit. For example I put in an electric trunk opener in my 72 Dart it came out of a 79 Cordoba and bolted right in the only thing I really needed to do was wire the switch. Unfortunately I have no idea what may or may not work in your application⁸
  21. A funny semi-related story when my oldest daughter, who is now 40, it's learning to drive I had an 87 Dodge Diplomat with a four-speed that I put in it so she learned to drive in a stick car. Years later after she had gotten married she was moving and had rented a big U-Haul nobody else there, I was 250 miles away, could drive a stick so she drove it and it was the biggest thing truck U-Haul rented. Well she called me up and said dad what am I doing wrong every time I shift gears it grinds the gears. I told her oh you're driving a non-synchronized gearbox. I never taught her how to shift one of those because I never thought to really. I tried to explain how to do it over the phone and she wasn't getting it So eventually I told her is it your truck? She said no and I said do you care about it? And she said no so I told her grind away, lol. Once she got in town and we unloaded her truck I showed her how to drive a non-synchronous gearbox in that U-Haul. Funny thing is is a couple years later she joined the army and became a mechanic it was the only mechanic who could drive a stick
  22. I don't know what to say I got the receipt from AutoZone RockAuto does List It as available
  23. Well I pulled the trigger. Got me a supercharged XF. 35,000 miles. If you see an old fool flying down the highway with a stupid grin on his face it's probably me.
  24. That line is so you can siphon the tank empty when you go to pull it.
  25. They all use the same timing set, I ordered it from Autozone, they had the best price. SA Gear 73111
