Los_Control Posted December 26, 2023 Report Posted December 26, 2023 I guess a sucker is born every minute ..... I just have a strange feeling about this deal. There is a place called Factory outlet at https://botiany.com/ I just bought 5 new 235 75 15 tires for $89.90 includes free shipping. Sounds totally to good to be true .... 4 for $79.99 & the 5th for 1/2 price at $9.98 ..... I did get a email for order confirmation, although I just ordered a few minute ago they are not shipped yet. Lets see what happens I did order a set of chrome shorty headers for a flathead V8 Ford motor from a clearance sale last year for $40 ... Think it was summit? ... dont remember. They are really nice & heavy casting, they will seal nice and are good headers. ..... Deals do happen at times. https://botiany.com/collections/new-tires Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 26, 2023 Report Posted December 26, 2023 well, good luck, the internet search on the company call it a full out scam.... Quote

Los_Control Posted December 31, 2023 Author Report Posted December 31, 2023 I was pretty sure @Plymouthy Adamswas right before he even posted the comment ..... Well I think you should keep looking and not stop at the website I provided Things that went wrong so far. First off I was surprised there was no tax included on the bill of $89 .... just something did not seem right. So when they actually took out $104.90 from the bank .... I figured well that was for the tax ... It is not correct the way they did it, but was realistic to what I expected to pay. The next day I did get a tracking # ...... Although the package can not be found or tracked at this time. Tough break for me because it is a Holiday week and so many people take the week off and no commerce is done ..... so I still think it is a scam, but they get a break because of the Holidays. I have been watching the bank like a hawk, checking it every day. The money transferred from my account went into a account labeled "cardiacmoment.NK" ..... Like they don't even try to hide it. So by now I'm pretty sure it is just a scam .... still watching the account daily, Then Friday I saw the same scammers took out $0.91 cents .... the memo said it was for customs duty. ...... I instantly called the bank and canceled my card. My card expired in 2 months and had to be replaced anyways .... I just did it a little early. I'm not saying it is impossible that I ever will receive my tires, maybe after the Holidays things will start moving along ..... I might get them just about the time me and the Easter Bunny goes for a ride in my truck this year. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 31, 2023 Report Posted December 31, 2023 while a solid and valid move on your part to protect your 6.....in the event of refund I am sure they will scream, given you get a response, no road back to the original account to send the refund....danged if you do and danged if you don't scenario. I still hope this works out for you. Quote
greg g Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Call the fraud department from your card, they will initiate an investigation and will not honor any further charges. Quote
Los_Control Posted January 18 Author Report Posted January 18 For whatever reason I have kept the tab open in my browser .... I refreshed it yesterday and was surprised. It has changed from order not found to order in transit .... no idea of a delivery date .... will probably get lost along the way I ordered my temp gauge from ebay and did not realize the seller was located in India ..... Think it was 3 months or more before it was finally delivered. I'm still expecting if they actually do arrive, will probably be tires for a Hot Wheels car or something else. Quote

I've defaulted to specifying USA location only on searches. If I don't find it there and really need one whatever, I'll include other countries. But, I've had pretty good luck with sources in Asia for the most part. Quote

I wish I could remember that, I simply just do not think about it .... This is the 2nd time ordering something that the journey originates from outside USA. Someday I may get smart and check before I order something. Obviously I was so concerned I canceled my credit card. .... I totally think it is just a fraud and I at a weak moment got sucked into it. When I saw it was from China, I had little hopes of it ever being anything but a fraud .... I placed the order on Dec 26 and it did not even appear in shipping list until Jan 16. But from the 16 to the 19 they have left China and appear to be ready to depart Hong Kong ..... They may sit there for several more weeks before actually leaving or get lost there. 2024-01-19 06:36:59 Hong Kong Departure from Processing Center, 快件离开处理中心【Hong Kong Departure from Processing Center】 2024-01-18 15:36:59 Hong Kong Arrival at Processing Center, 快件到达处理中心【Hong Kong Arrival at Processing Center】 2024-01-16 21:55:04 深圳, 离开收寄点【深圳】 2024-01-16 19:01:59 深圳处理中心已收寄, 快件到达处理中心【深圳处理中心已收寄】 To think about it realistically, 5 new tires with free shipping for $105 rounded off is $21 per tire. I looked at a few local sites, tire rack, giga ..... 1 tire was around $100 + $32 shipping per tire. So realistically the total price I did pay, would not even cover shipping on a legitimate order .... Just too good to possibly be true. So I have pretty much kissed that $100 goodbye ..... Even though the order now may look legit and moving .... I expect 6-12 weeks to arrive to California and I also expect them to get lost somewhere between here & there. I do have time to wait, I can drive on my old dry rotted tires around town, they would not pass safety inspection for licensing though .... thats a few months away yet. Quote
Ivan_B Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 That's an interesting way to have fun with your money, and brag about it on the internet ? 1 Quote
Los_Control Posted January 24 Author Report Posted January 24 I hear ya Ivan ..... I have no idea what got into me .... I have looked at those internet ads often and would never even consider opening them to look at. I dunno, maybe I had not had enough coffee one day and I did. .... I kinda thought for the price .... lets see what happens? I have made a lot of mistakes in my life ..... still thinking this is one of them .... Why not laugh about it and roll with the punches. On the other hand I did get a good tease today. The order did arrive in the USA today .... I was expecting a slow boat, must have been a airplane? I figure this is the perfect setup ..... The order left China fine .... If it gets lost in the USA not their problem !!! 2024-01-23 06:36:59 US Arrived at Hub, Express arrives at the processing center [US] 2024-01-20 06:36:59 Hong Kong in transit, trunk rotation 2024-01-19 06:36:59 Hong Kong departure from processing center, Express leave processing center [hong Kong departure from processing center] 2024-01-18 15:36:59 Hong Kong ARRIVAL at Processing Center, Express Arrival Reach Reach Processing Center [Hong Kong Arrival at Processing Center] 2024-01-16 21:55:04 Shenzhen, leave the collection point [Shenzhen] 2024-01-16 19:01:59 The Shenzhen Treatment Center has been collected, the Express arrives arrives at the treatment center [Shenzhen Treatment Center has been collected] Quote
