met a major mile marker today setting the carbo box onto the cab and chassis and bolting them together....not heavy, but bulky....person at each corner...set within an inch....inserting alignment pins and then shift it against the seal....fitted the bolts...about 1 1/2 hours with all the bolts

Very nice! A fitting reward for the hours of labor.  Looks like a vanilla cream and burgundy are the color choices.  Any signage going on that embossed panel?

Thanks.....it has been a journey and well, lots yet to go on the beast.  Pete....what year Morris van do you have, is it a Minor also?  This pic is for you and by the way this van came out of NZ and was a CKD....twice...once in NZ and again when I got it, was on pallets and stuffed in boxes.

Thank God it’s not as ugly as the Bedford or the Powell.

Does this have the engine crank that also runs the Jack up and down?

and is also the lug wrench......I do not have the Shelley jack for this little LCV.  I made a cradle and fixed clips to stow a donor scissors jack and crank.  So technically the original crank would be but eye candy.

Mine is 1970 vintage. Very similar to yours but with more glass in the back. A previous owner put a Nissan 1200 motor, gearbox and drivetrain in it. Needs some rust work in many areas and reassembly of the mechanicals. We bought it when we had two of our four children and put a couple of seats just behind the front seats that the minions occupied. Fun times really. The nostalgia has stopped me from moving it on and my over-adventurous barely teenage son dismantled it som 20 years ago.

Yours is looking real good. They are fun little vehicles to have. Very common here once but not too many around now.

Good deal, owning one of these I think is special, they were very popular down under and a hen's tooth in the US, the guy I got this from took it apart over 10 years ago and he was one of the extra sets of hands helping lift the box onto the cab and chassis Sunday.   I think he was excited as I to see it bolted together.  The original box was as yours, the large side windows and the larger glass rear doors and flimsy shell full of rust that he just junked.  This is a 1969 model and this box was bought after he took it apart so he had never seen it without the large side glasses.  I think he said the box was from New Jersey and said he expected more problems going on as it was not from this cab and chassis.  I have a B210 A14 engine out of Florida and the more robust 63A five speed.  I also found and installed a 3.7 differential and it now has disc brakes in the front and I did my own rendition of a clutch master and slave.  Plenty of other upgrades and changes that does not change its basic appearance.  I have the wider 8 CWT rims and will run a bit wider tire.   It continues to be a fun project.

can't think of anything at the moment

The sides just looked like a natural for some kind of signage, the back , not so much.  No forgiveness or cheating on the bodywork with those single wall thickness panels so there has to be a ton of hours in them.  I suppose you could have a self portrait or caricature and an "I did this" statement on the sides, just for fun.

Some red wheels would make it stand out, work well with body color!

Add some orange-ish / red flames on the front sheet metal an go flyin".

Will really show off the great work done on this car.

If Plymouthy does not already despise me he will now!

these were typically a commercial vehicle in the UK....over there they companies were logo printed on these panels for whatever company using them.  There were operated by the utility companies by the thousands....the interior had a variety of production shelfs and storage offered.  They had ladder storage and the what not for the exterior.  This was to my understanding started out non commercial unit.  The cargo box on it now was however from a commercial unit and had the damage on the roof panels as proof.  Continues to be a fun build, I am studying the manner of floor insert I will install now.  They are always two pieces.  The rear 32 x 22 panel lifts for service to the fuel tank if needed.  Different built all around.

Well I know you trying to get a rise out of me....good try!  The wheels are body color, there is to be a trim ring and stainless poverty cap with the embossed M on it that is highlighted in the secondary color, burgundy.  With Led lighting inside the shop it never shows the true color and often more of a red than the darker burgundy.

The flames....confirms you off your nut...!!!!!!!!!!  But when the doors and fenders go on....you may like the look....think D24 here is all I am saying and think two tone at the same time.

Well I'm busted.

Been on the forum so long Tim is on to me.

I guess I get bored sometimes and just try to have some fun here, too serious at times.

Just old cars we spend too much money on.

But can not seem to help ourselves!  ?

Wheels the same color as the fenders would make this contraption actually cute ?

I do like it for some reason. ?

Beautifully done Tim!  ??

the engine is upgraded from a 1100 to a 1400, dropped the 4 speed non sync'ed first gear for full sync and OD drive 5 speed.  Changed the rear gear from a 4.55 to a 3.7  and added slightly wider rims for a better meat patch when driving.  She has not been fired up yet.....The wheels are sand color with stainless caps with burgundy highlights in the recessed circle and M stamps and will have the stainless beauty rims.   It should not have any problems with traffic and I also upgraded to disc brakes for the front.  We got potential here....lol
