Hi all,

I'm going to install a manual choke on my Meadowbrook. Ive rebuilt the carb, and am not a fan of automatic chokes.

I found a great old choke cable that I think will look really nice, but im not sure where i should mount the pull...on the dash, or underneath? And, if on the dash, any suggestions as to where?  Ive not seen a D34 with a manual choke so I dont know where the pull knob went. I could pretty easily just put the darn thing on, but it would be nice to place it where it would go as from the factory, if that was even an option.

Thanks for any ideas.

Under dash to the right of steering column was my best fit. Make sure your bends have nice sweeping radius as to not kink. Secure cable to firewall loosely. Dont screw up your dashboard

I mounted mine under the dash as I am not one for drilling holes in the dash. Under and to the right of the the steering column.
My pictures are too big and I don’t know how to resize them.

Hello Tired Iron, This won't help you much but on my D25C the choke knob is located in the dash right of the steering column as Throttle and Headlights take up most of the room on the left side and the turn signal apparatus blocks viewing some of that side as well. Booger and Laynrubber have both suggested under the dash to the right and given the intricacies of the dash that I have seen on line they have a pretty good handle on the issue. Good luck as I also am not a fan of auto chokes and think you will enjoy benefits of manual choke for many years.  Dave

onntop of the steering column in the Center.

Done by PO very nicely as they converted from the sisson to manual choke (dodge original choke cable).

it’s quite convenient.

I replaced the Sisson choke with a manual one many years ago.  Although we have a D24 as opposed to your Meadowbrook, I placed the knob below and to the right of the steering column under the dash.  I don't like drilling additional holes in the dash, either.  Mine is on a mount that came with the manual choke kit.  The photo angle makes it look prominent, but it's actually rather indiscrete from regular eye level.

Hey Booger what carb. is this in your picture. It looks different than mine on the 230 L6. I need to get me a new one for the car the one that's on it I can't get the jet to adjust anymore.
