Yep pretty much done with clubs and shows.  The WPC is still an option.  When you show up,  they at least act like ithey are happy see you.

Yes but now that I said that I am questioning if that was true across the lineup. Somewhere at home I have an original to my 48 bulb. It's got a date stamped on the back that is within a few days of my build date.

Dug my original bulb from my 48 out and it is indeed a Corcoran brown bulb. So I can say that's what they were using in Nov of 48 when my coupe was built.

Went to my first show last month.  Our village puts on a small show.  No entrance fees, no judging, no trophies, open to all makes, models, years, come and go as you please  so I drove the Mach I the three blocks and parked amongst the earlier arrivals.  Yes, they were happy to have me.

No club is like it was years ago.....most frown on having a swap meet in conjunction with any gathering or event now and the whole success is measure not by the cars on the field but by the end of event banquet.....now a British event/show cannot be done without including a "tea setting" display and judging....while nice and for the ladies....it is not at the same level as the once offered swap meet event and why one without the other.   I bailed from all this decades ago.  Really do not miss it at all.  I find as much if not more enjoyable event the local cruise, come and go as you wish, more than one brand of cars are there....while I dislike many brands.....there are many that I do enjoy seeing at times...it is a surprise most events.   Saturday I attend the local cruise, first one with nice weather in 4 months.  I drove the 48 up and it garners it fair share of attentions and many question on the build.  Probably the only old car there with active air bag....ABS brakes etc etc.

Here is a photo of the headlamp that is in my 49 first series Traveler. I have no reason to believe it's not original. I would need to remove it to find out if there is a date stamp on it. I did notice that there is a slight difference in this one to a replacement set that I bought a flea market. Again, I would need to pull both to look for dates. If it helps your research, I will gladly do it.

That is the correct Autolite Bullseye bulb for your 1949. This is the first year that they started using the Bullseye Bulbs. i just sold one that had a 1953 date stamped on the back of the bulb. Not sure they stamped all of the bulbs with a build date.  If you do take yours off and there isa date stamp can you photo that and also the number that is on the top front of the bulb. I am trying to see if there isa any coorolation on the three numbers that were part of the glass lens.

Where in PA are you located. I am located in Valley forge, PA.  Also if you are close to Hershey in October stop by my vendor site in the Orange field  Row OAD site 7&8.

Rich. I'm in the Poconos. I was out to Hershey last year, but unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this year. I actually found some flipper window crank handles and parts as well as some NOS quarter trim for the Traveler there. I removed one headlamp last night. The one I believe to be original. No date on the back. It does have alignment tabs that locate it specifically in the headlamp bucket. It has the number 835 on it.
