Hi, I'm Bill from the Boston area, and the proud new owner of a 1950 Desoto Custom 4dr. I wasn't looking for a Desoto particularly, but an old project car I could afford. When I saw this Desoto staring back at me with its big beautiful bullseye headlights on Craigslist, I just couldn't resist. Its not my first old car project, but its my first old Chrysler Corp. car. I am enjoying learning the engineering of it. I have learned a lot here already, but I know I'll be asking questions as I work towards giving this car life again. Thanks in advance!, Bill

Congratulations!  I have the Dodge version of that model same year and I love it.  Not a fast car but extremely smooth and reliable.

This site has helped me out more times than i can count.

These type cars are so much easier to keep up now that we are in the internet age and parts are more easily accessible.

Get it running and enjoy.

Welcome, Bill. I think you will find this forum a pretty friendly place.  dp

Hey Bill,

Glad you are here.

See my thread on the heater valve. The people on here are great, I had answers in minutes.

Hope I can pay it back someday.

First off welcome to the forum Bill. It is nice to see another Desota, Chrysler, Dodge or Plymouth lover come to the forum. It means that another old car or truck has been saved from the junk yard or the rust pit. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum that have very good advice on these old cars and trucks. They have helped me in more ways than I can count and remember no question is a dumb one we all need a little help now and again.. Welcome and by the way I love all the chrome.

Great looking car, love the Fort Dix bumper sticker.  Unlike Larry I'll refrain from assuming your a Chrysler product lover.  It's either a acquired  taste or an addiction.
