HI all you Mopar guys

I have not been on in a while but I have not given up the dream of owning one of these fine trucks....I am now knee deep in a 1953 Chevy 1 ton truck rebuild but I still kept looking for a dodge and I noticed there is not the aftermarket stuff like for the 1953 Chevy truck. I can get brand new just about every part on this truck including a whole brandy new cab....So it got me to thinking about the patience of trying to find parts for these trucks (I am not a patience man...I have ADHD really bad)...I have a hard enough time waiting a week for the UPS truck to drop it load of new parts for my truck....All I am doing on my current project is a rewire, 12 volt conversion, disc brake front brake and a K5 Blazer rear end for better gearing....

My hat is off to you hardcore Dodge truck guys and the search for parts and the amount you guys must have to fabricate to make these things work for you....

I have a lot more memories of riding in my dads old Pilothouse truck or his Dodge Tradesman vans or even his more current Cummins powered stuff too....he never owned a AD style truck but it was cheap and parts are plentiful so I bought it....

Maybe when I get it up and running I can find someone who wants to trade the old Chevy for a comparable Dodge Pilothouse..

Only time will tell...

thanks for letting hang out here with you fine folks...

You don't have to buy many hard to find parts if you start out with a good nice running truck. Probably will save $$ too in the long run.

Make's it fun and easy to own one.

Not sure if it is a "pilothouse", but here's a place to start on your own Dodge:

Yup 48-52.

Mike,

You are young...finish the Chevy do your very best then sell it buy a Pilothouse and apply all the mistakes and corrections you learned and you too will have a Pilothouse.

Good luck,

Hankl  :)

Hi Charlie

I am kinda looking for a smaller pickup truck. My dad had one that was formally a telephone / power company truck and it even had the utility box so I am thinking his was probably a 3/4 ton...not sure..so something smaller...my current 1953 Chevy truck is a 1 ton and fills up my garage space almost to the point where you cant work around it...so smaller would be better...

thanks for the offer tho...
