RodFru2u
Thought I'd get a jump on the weekend, So Friday hunted down some special needles needed to sew Naugahyde. I have been wanting to recover my seats since I first drove it ( over 10 miles ). I had no idea what was under the sweat stained, sun faded blue(ish) sheet / fabric that I've been sitting for over two years. Turns out I have one of them Air-O-Ride Seat Bottoms and a non original seat back. Took some 3n1 oil and a few wacks to get the slides open and the vanes to move, Now once I get the fabric I'll see what I can do. I took them to a shop and was quoted $ 300! I have a machine strong enough to handle the vinyl and I am fearless, I've ruined better stuff then this. Saturday was a GREAT day for me too, My Pop has been complaining about the steering on the '34 Packard. We tore into it, Had the front end gone over and checked out by the local specialists. Other than needing new front tires she is true and straight, Pop is still not convinced. I jacked up the front end and we checked the steering box, Pop is 81 years old but the old man said " Yupp, back off the adjusting/tighten bolt with jam nut 3/4 turn " BOOM ! He says " IZ GOOOOD " I tighten her all up, drop her down. We go for a 3 hour cruise! Had a GREAT DAY with my Pop.
JBNeal
truck picture B-1-B-108: I got tied up with non-stop landscaping all weekend...but the sun is setting further north, so I snapped a pic of the '48 as it awaits some attention...just another day without enough hours in it Edited April 30, 2021 by JBNeal revised information
Plymouthy Adams
The 4th annual came and passed with me out of town attending matters at hand....Knowing I would not be able to be near my truck, I have to ask if ordering a part that I have been looking for for years counts...?
Young Ed
The 4th annual came and passed with me out of town attending matters at hand....Knowing I would not be able to be near my truck, I have to ask if ordering a part that I have been looking for for years counts...? As long as it was a truck part that completely counts!
Plymouthy Adams
it is the number "6" that is on each fender of the 58 D100 Ed...I just hope it will be salvageable..as normal, studs are in rough condition but these are very thick casting and hopefully repairable...if all is well...this is the final trim item that was missing from the truck...while not intended to build to that of a pristine truck, if and when worked will be a solid and aptly painted parts chaser. You can change all that by coming here and getting it or at least finding me something that could entice me to drag this beast north and do some trading...hint hint prod prod
52b3b Joe
Here was my truck on Saturday... It ran great and it had no issues for my friends wedding! They used it to drive off in after the ceremony. I didn't work on it, but I got to use it for the first time I've had it all put together. Sunday I took it on a car tour with my local car club. I put around 200 miles on it over the weekend without any issues. Edited May 4, 2015 by 52b3b Joe
Phntm48
For the past year or so, between school and life in general, I havn't been able to do much to my truck. But for IWOYTD I was able to tear myself away and get the ole girl started, moved out to the street and I swept up all the dirt and windblown leaves and crud that have been hiding under the truck. I also cleaned the drip pans then I put her back to bed.........its heart breaking that I cant get out there and work on her, but I take solice in the fact that at least shes safe and sound until I can get back at her.

48Dodger
Oh.....and Stephanie claimed a parts truck for her new garden area. Its a parts truck that has been a catch-all of many different years of PH trucks. She plans on cleaning it up to a point where I can give it a satin paint job and except tools and flower boxes. The truck sitting in front of the garden isn't the one...but showing the location. 48D
