joey4420
Okay so after reading a ton on here and having just changed what almost appeared to be the original shocks on my car (one leaked all the oil out as soon as I laid it on the ground). I looked the WWW Bias tires over and have no idea when they were made other than prior to 2000 with the date codes were added in simple terms. I already drove them almost 2 hours and they feel great but don't want to trust them for any real long drives or for that matter I like being safe and don't want to have to try and change a tire on the side of the road in Cincinnati if I can help it. The backup on the interstate alone could take days to clear up as everyone would stop and look or take pictures. So I am thinking of getting some Radial tires (sorry to the purists, but I want to drive it not show it since I am unemployed I might as well enjoy some things in life while searching for a job. Anyways, I have read on here about the White Wall Rings that go under the hubcaps. I currently have 6.00x16 tires I am thinking P215/75-R16 I thought about LT215/85-R16 but they might be too tall. I do like the look of the white walls, so where in the world can I get a set of the White Wall Rings? So as to not get into trouble if you have a set PM me, but if you know where they can be purchased online please let me know, my google search has only yielded a set on ebay for $175 Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

TrOjAnUK
OK, question for you, how fast do you drive? I have a 1950 Dodge pickup with 15" wheels, I run a chevy lump in it so its pretty fast anyway, I have the white wall rings, fitted new they look well good, but for some reason (speed?) they stretch outwards which makes them ripple around the outter edge making them look awful. I have fitted a total of 7 of them now on the truck and the rears seem to stretch more than the front... Im going to try tyre paint next... failing that, its chrome trims on the wheels Good luck, TrOjAn Okay so after reading a ton on here and having just changed what almost appeared to be the original shocks on my car (one leaked all the oil out as soon as I laid it on the ground). joey4420
I drive around 60 mph pretty much top speed for me or that I want to drive the car although I am sure it can run faster. I am wanting the metal rings that make it look like the wheel is solid white.

Eneto-55
Weren't those called Beauty Rings? (If I understand correctly - the rings that went on around the hubcaps, actually making it look like wheel covers. Were those original equipment, or later aftermarket parts? Like the wheel covers on the 53 DeSoto, that had a chrome center the size of a hub cap, and white rings around the outside of that.)

ACJCF2
Joey, Portawalls, from what I've seen on a Merc sled and one or two other in SC tend to pucker when used on radicals. This I believe is do to the softer sidewall. Hard to keep clean too. And if you curb one, buy a replacement. Jim

Hopefully I can find some or one at least and maybe get some made.

BobT-47P15
Those white trim rings are made similar to some chrome wide type rings. They have to match the curvature of the rim...........and Fords, Chevs and Mopars are all different in curvature and depth. So you have to buy a set marked as for your model car. A current eBay seller has a set of white and chrome .... lists only the diameters of the rings and does not say what they are intended for. I sent him a message about the white ones, so will see what reply I get. I bought a "pig in a poke" set of white rings at Hershey last fall......got them home and they did NOT fit my Plymouth rims. Probably for Ford or Chev. So just keep looking.......eBay, Hemmings Motor News, other advertising places......and at swap meets.
