vht Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Anyone know where I can get a head liner for my 51 Dodge business coupe? Something that don't cost a arm and leg. This won't be a show car, I'm going to do all the other interior, or at least give it a good shot anyway. Don't think I can do the headliner. I have all the metal rods for it. Quote
48ply1stcar Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 I just received my headliner from WLS and posted pictures of the visors I had them do. It's the lastest entry on "Finially, started my interior" Which seems now to be a long running joke. Quote
Robert Horne Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 I bought my headliner material from Walmart, in the form of a blanket. The blanket is two layers sewn back to back, easy to install the rods, stretchable, looks great. Makes good door panel covers also.. Quote
casper50 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 I haven't bought from these people but have it marked for when I get to the interior. I'd make sure they can do one in cloth. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-1947-COUPE-2-4-DOOR-SEDAN-HEADLINER-NEW-ALL-PRE-SEWN-READY-TO-INSTALL-/310436128777?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item48476f6809&vxp=mtr Quote

timkingsbury Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 did you try a internet search on WLS headliner???? nope.. and WLS didn't net much, nor WLS interiors so I thought I would ask those who had mentioned them. I have searched WLS headliners now and found http://wlsheadliners.com/ and http://wls-auto-interiors.com/ so thanks for the clue Quote
vht Posted February 23, 2015 Author Report Posted February 23, 2015 Thanks, WLS is really reasonable. Quote

Robert Horne Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Very impressed! The install has been several years, and still looks great. Not bad for less than $20, and was easy to install......... Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Don't look now, but, there's a creepy looking cat in a bikini peeking in the back window. Quote

I took many photos of my install, but they are not on Photobucket anymore. I used the full size Walmart blanket, queen or king size would better, so as to have much material left to use in other areas. just trim the two sides to get access to the ends to insert the rods. I started the attach process at the windshield, and worked my way to the rear. At the rear, I used cloths pin to hold the material in place, stretch a little each day to give the material time to stretch. Quote
