As it gets dark so early now my afternoon rides are bringing me back in pitch darkness with the occasional streetlight along the way. I stopped underneath one and tried to get some pictures.

Beautiful old girl! And I see you are sporting a nice fat suicide/brody/spinner knob! I recently purchased one for Lady Grey, and man what a difference that makes in heaving her around tight corners, even at the low speeds she is currently restricted too! :-)

Thanks, like most older girls she looks better in dim lighting. That spinner I found this summer after looking for a long time for one that was strong and functional, I tell people with a straight face that it is/was the power steering option in 1948. That is after they always ask the same queation...(hey aren`t those illegal).

I know! I don't know why people always think that!

like many I was always told they were only legal for a one armed man....same logic that applies to the validity of carrying a switchblade knife..they are to me like fuzzy dice is to Don C.  useless bit of clutter...but hey..they still selling these by the ton..

Some tale about them getting twisted up in people's shirts via the cuff slot, thereby hindering the driver from proper control of the vehicle. More likely loss of concentration due to activities of member of opposite sex passenger. Around here they were known as neckers knobs. Allowing you to use one hand to drive while the other was elsewhere involved likely not texting....

I caught a spinner knob in the front of my coat once, and it picked me out of the seat, as wheel came back around. LOL

I felt like a real doofus.

I learned to sit back and unbutton the coat. ;)

Took this the morning I went to store the pickup while waiting for my ride to come out.

Loved the night shots. The pickup reminded me of the movie, "Christine" for some reason :o

Here's my add to the evening shots. Too much ambient light but that moon sure has been looking good these past few nights.

This one isn't very dark.....was taken back in 2006 one night on the parking lot of a local hotel when I went out

to look at a group of old cars from Norway.  They were on a tour of Route 66 and had earlier been to an area

drive-in theater to see that new movie "Cars"  Visited with two of the guys til about 1 a.m. while sipping a couple

adult beverages.
