I have not seen an official picture thread for engines and thought it would be a fantastic idea to post pictures of overall engines and close ups of particular so old and new experience can use as a reference if needed plus it may just be good fun to share our pride and joys? It would be nice to keep this flathead oriented. Anyone interested? anyone want to start off?

Mission accomplished.

The 218 engine in the 47 Chrysler I used to own. That engine was a 218 Canadian long block from a 1951 Dodge car...

Chris,

The photo of the engine in your D25 Dodge reminds of a line in a song recorded by Waylon Jennings -"It ain't how you look, it's what you got under your hood". ;)

1957  230 bored .030 over.......otherwise stock.  I got good results painting it with POR 15 brand "POR 20 High Heat Aluminum"

in a can, applied with a 2" brush.

My labels are copier copies of originals purchased from "Seaplym" on eBay....attached with glue stick.

Have held up fairly well....but you don't want to get them wet.    I think they would be more durable if

printed on some plasticized or coated paper with adhesive on the back.

Nothing like a clean fresh painted engine block Merle, how well has it stood up so far?

Not all that good. I just used Duplicolor Engine Enamel rattle cans. I've touched it up a couple of times, but it's a driver. I don't expect it to stay looking like that.
