casper50
Have had visitors from England for the last 10 days so not much getting done. Put the body back on the frame yesterday. Beginning to look like a car instead of a bunch of cancer ridden parts. Edited June 19, 2016 by casper50
casper50
Happy day. All of the bodywork sheetmetal is in color and clear coat. Haven't fixed the mistakes and dirt nips or buffed/polished it yet but I'm finished painting large pieces.

casper50
I ran out of clear and had to go buy another quart. Didn't have what I was using and the new stuff ran easier. I have about 7 large sags/runs to remove now. But, hey it's done.
Dave72dt
As long as all your gravity indicators are in the clear, they're fixable. It's a real pain when you find they're in the base after you have the clear on it. Looks great, good job!
casper50
they are all in the clear. I made sure before I put the clear on that I had no problems in the basecoat.
DonaldSmith
In post 281, the finish is so clear and reflective, showing the wall studs, etc., that it was hard for me to figure out what each piece was. Once the pieces are on the car, they will reflect trees, sky, and happy people.
casper50
Done with most of the hook up for the dual carbs.
deathbound
Who made the headers? If you shifted the kinked linkage with the spring to the other side of the carb linkage would it center up more on the carb base? One thing I found out the hard way, do not use the original "sandwich" type heat riser gasket for your hot water plate. I had to make one out of gasket material. Looks good. casper50
Moose's headers made them. The V shaped bar won't fit on the other side. The throttle linkage is too far to the outside of the engine for it to fit/work. If anyone knows of better linkage I'd like to know. This seems a bit mickey mouse to me. Don Coatney
Are you running manifold vacuum to your distributor vacuum advance?
casper50
yes
Don Coatney
You might want to give that some thought. Should be "ported vacuum" from the base of the carburetor.
casper50
Okay. Should it be from both carbs or is one enough?
Don Coatney
Your choice. I use just one.

Plymouthy Adams
believe that signifies the new lines that is nickel cooper
casper50
Nope. It's shrink tube. Lines will look the same color for years. Did the same on the red brake lines. The new copper nickel lines were almost black. Edited July 4, 2016 by casper50
