Did ya notice.......the wiper knob is even pointing the correct original direction??

Also......judging by that hole on the passenger end of the under-dash panel......there may have

been a cigarette lighter, too.

Just needs some TLC from a Plymouth fan to become nice again.

Lots of information on "common" things here.........you need to try using

the search feature.

The wiper switch is supposed to point to the front?

Welcome to the forum, this is a great place with great people, where you'll learn a lot, and get lots of help.  I'd echo Bob T - the search feature is priceless.  I get all nostalgic when I see photos of new projects that look like ours did when we first got it.  Your going to have a blast, it won't be easy, but it will be fun.  (If it was easy, everyone would do it.)

I kind of excited for you too, Ed. You've got a lot of work ahead of you, but all the little hard-to-find parts seem to be there.  Widow and door handles and hardware, door trim, good dash parts, it'll be fun watching it come back to life for you.  Right offhand, you only need a horn ring, and that shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!  The snow has abated and I have been reclaiming my shop, it sat neglected for years before I bought this place and was full of trash and what not.  The GOOD news is I found mucho parts in there.  Including an old Silverdome and a Buick? straight eight... not sure about years... They may be good material for future projects!  We should get her rolled in there and start in the next week or so.

I think I see it dangling under the center of the dash. Looks like it has a heater so it is good to go in the snow.

There is indeed a heater!!!

Nice car there, get ready for some fun.

I am!!!! It's been a long time coming.  The initial pain is going to be tools... Never had the chance to collect many while I was in the Army

Welcome Ed from South Alabama.

Hiya Chris! you're not too far.... I may have to lean on you some!!!!!

We got to Alabama on Thursday. Where's the warm weather? We saw snow along the roads, we thought we left that back in Michigan. JohnS

I assume the weather warmed while you were here.  Think we hit 70 that weekend!

I hope so!!!! TLC and lots of parts!  Always been a Plymouth guy... My first resto (and my first car) was a 62 Fury, Poly 318, Pushbutton etc... Loved that car even though it was a 4 door.  It seems they've all been chopped up into Max Wedge Clones now, can't find one anywhere around here.

Welcome home from Army life. Where were you stationed? MOS?

Started life as a 81Q... Reclassed to 11B after the first enlistment (retention guy looked at me like I was nuts  )... stationed @ Knox, Belvoir, Germany x2, Benning, and Drum (and several hot, sandy places... and a former Warsaw Pact nation or two). You???

The Army has a bad habit of sending us to sh$y places...

How'd the old saying go...

Yea, but we and our fellow Americans (as well as a lot of foreigners) are better off for it.  Thanks for serving.

Agreed.

You guys know anybody that would be interested in that old Silverdome?

Silverdome? Do you mean Fireball 8 ?

No... This one... It's a Flatty Plymouth... 30 something

It has "Silverdome" cast into the head

the name associated with the 4 cylinder continued with Plymouth with the new 6 introduction in 1933...I cannot recall if it was ever embossed on the cylinder head though like the later Spitfire was..

Don't know about '34 but "Silver Dome" was cast into the head in '33. The photo is of a '33 or '34 block as evidenced by the visible cylinder bores on the left side of the engine. From the oil pump its a mid-1933 or later engine but the photo of the left side does not clearly show the oil pressure relief valve area so I can't tell if its a mid-1933 or a late-1933/1934 block. Engine number above the generator would say.

Looks like a post WW2 carburetor based on the mounting for the air filter. . . Also that exhaust manifold is for a later engine, 1933 and 1934 had rear dump.
