Happy Thanksgiving to all in the good ole US of A, and any others observing US thanksgiving around the globe.

It's not thanksgiving here north of the border, but black Friday insanity is in full force. I would like to experience Thanksgiving and black Friday, once in my life in the USA, maybe when i retire. Seems you folks really celebrate a lot for this Holiday.......enjoy those turkeys

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.

We ate at noon time, my wife put on a great meal usual.

Fred, speaking of Black Friday, I had to shut the Dallas game off because of the @#$@# Black Friday commercials.

Getting ready to have a turkey with mayo sandwich, ah, life is good

On the West Coast it's just 3:00pm.  Enjoying second football game,.....after the next trial at cleaning parts.  We'll have turkey and trimmings 'bout 5:00.  Lotsa telephone good wishes with the kids and friends 'round the country.  Black Friday irritates me to no end.  Best part is when it's over and I can get to the turkey leftovers.

I could only wish for turkey.  Quiet day here, recovering from cold cough and resulting aftermath.  Resting mostly.

I wish Black Friday was over too. Have to be to work at 5:30 for the mad rush!!! They will probably keep me till at least 10 or 11 am....Then at NOON I am scheduled for my other job  and have to stay till 10;30 closing time,,,,,THEN get up at 3;30 sat to be started all over at 5am till 11 or so then get a turkey dinner as our only TG family meal this year.  I will be mostly dead by then tho.

Commercialism is taking over our lives. But that is the mantra of our governments, Canadian or American, get out there and spend your money to boost the GDP and be patriotic. Best bet is to ignore it as much as possible but, unfortunately, it will only get worse.

However, to our US friends who have the time to stop and smell the turkey.................enjoy your time with family, friends, good food, and good times. Life is short and you gotta enjoy it as much as possible!

Yes indeed, a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all, and "good luck" to any Black Friday participants. My usually lonely drive in to work in the AM was not so this day. Many folks on the road heading to the BF events, around here that means a lot of Canadians taking advantage of the sales. They don't drive any worse than New Yorkers, but my drive to work is along the same thoroughfare many use to get from the ports of entry to the shopping malls and centers closer to Buffalo. Around here they started the sales yesterday, very discouraging in my book. I can remember when the Friday after Thanksgiving was for "recovery", not Christmas shopping. The following Monday was "the day". And I aint that old....

For commercials, I put a spot of bright green tape on the "mute" button on the remote.

I think TV remotes should have a 2 inch x 2 inch bright mute button....
