Only two and a half weeks left to have it complete in time for Clements, and that includes drive time.

A few long nights and a few beers ought to do it....

Flipping the manifold took less time than I had imagined.  The hardest part were the two bolts tucked in the firewall (bottom of course the worse of the 2).

keep up the good work!  on my Detroit diesel transplant I ended up heat coating my manifold using some high temp paint for headers and then baked(my wife was uber excited about this) it in my oven.  Sure made the house smell like a gear factory heating and cooling it to 450 degrees 3 times!

cant wait to see the hood action with all the actuators and such installed(maybe I missed that, will go back and see).

You haven't missed it.  I had a redeisgn of linkage and am waiting for my lasered parts.  I want (don't know if I will) to have it done by Tim's BBQ.

dropped the Turbo back on and started to lien things up...need a spacer now, spinning the cold side around it now hits the exhaust manifold.

im sure you already know this but make sure the center section of the turbo, the oil drain points straight down. ive heard you can get away with the 5 o' clock to 7 o' clock range but too much and the oil seals can blow out making a smokey mess. Ive never reclocked a turbo housing so im no help there.

*i really need to make a trip over some sunday after the BBQ so i can see the progress!!!

@Ram Man 02, How's the progress on your truck? I often wonder how you're getting along with your diesel project.

Not all diesels do or have them and not all require wastegates.  It would have run without it, would have been severely down on hp and required a recalibration of the fuel pump.  On and off the throttle applications have different requirements than one under a constant load.

Dialing the rear door windows.  With the glass in hand somr adjustments needed on both doors.

Looks good.  I assume the rear doors have fixed glass panes....

No, those are power windows as well.  If I'm going to do the insane, might as well go for TOTAL insanity.

I was really hoping to have this all finished by Q time, but I don't think it's in the cards.  Gotta take a few nights to finish off the taxes....stupid taxes  ;)

Driver side is giving me a few isues getting it all lined up happy with the passenger side.   Even a vaunted template failed me and I'm down to itterative pivot placement.  I'm close, but not quite yet.

Driver side now w/in 1/2° on angle for open and closed position.  Tonight I fully weld the pivot point in place.

Tip linkage pivots all welded in.  I do have some heat deflection at the front pivot to deal with, but not that big of a deal, I will fix after the Q.  Also dropped the turbo back on with the new spacer for clearance.

Well, the weekend was busy!  Running on 18V instead of 12V (wheeler battery had a bad cell) so its a bit FAST, and I need to figure out how to stiffen the whole thing so the bounce stops.  But I'm happy!
