ggdad1951 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 a while back someone started a thread dedicated to project builds for easy lookup...I think the thought was to keep errant posts out and strictly keep it to build links. Would this be a good thing to keep up and "pinned" to the top of the forum? Quote
P15-D24 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 How about a category just for tracking a build project. That way everything is in one location and easier to find and follow. When the Buy/Sell forums get deleted next month the forum directory is going to look a little bare.. 2 Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I think a build catagory would be great. Much easier to track progress. I hope everybody will use it. Problem as I see it is many folks start a new thread about there build everytime they check the air in there tires. Very hard to track a project with multiple threads about the same issues. Bill Story is the best at keeping everything in one thread. 48Ruby has also done a good job. 1 Quote
P15-D24 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 Well we do have moderators now so if they start to multiply the could move them to the correct build thread. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Well we do have moderators now so if they start to multiply the could move them to the correct build thread. yes, I think that would be ok. I know that for FEF's build at least I got a little sidetracked with subquestions/alternate threads as the project moved on, which I tried to keep it on one topic at least, like the 'build your own wood bed" thread. I promise to keep TODD's build thread in one place! Edited February 22, 2013 by ggdad1951 Quote
pflaming Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I too like a thread that is continuous. I've been following several threads and as one thread it is easy to track. When I did my disc brakes and my rear axle I posted all into these extended threads. For me, when I had a problem, possible solutions were given. Now when I have a brake problem I just go to my thread and I find a lot of help for MY problem. I will do a continuem when I do my convertible, but will NOT include when I fill the tires. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 aw come on Paul, where is your CWO Brandywine humor? Quote
52b3b Joe Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I try to keep everything related to my truck in my on going thread. It makes it easier for me to find stuff when people post answers to questions I had. It is also easier for others to follow what is going on if they haven't looked at it before. 1 Quote
JBNeal Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 I put a link to the build threads in my signature Quote
