Plymouthy Adams
Andy..maybe Bill Watson could chime in here...he seems to have access to the original Chrylser documentation.. I got to admit there seems to be a whole lot of Town Sedan appearing in them body lines with no rear door but rear door glass and vent.. Roadkingcoupe
Theres a 1941 Plymouth "Royal" 2dr sedan on US ebay under the 1941 Plymouth listing....... Everything looks Chrysler Not much if any? Plymouth in that car. Note the body shape, dash plastic and grill/headlights ALL Chrysler parts. I can not see ANY Plymouth parts on that car. Many eBayers write Chrysler Plymouth or Chrysler Desoto This is the first time I have seen a listing written the other way "Plymouth Chrysler" Probably a 1941 Chrysler Royal Brogham without any Plymouth mixed in. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Plymouth-Other-Royal-Brougham-1941-Plymouth-Royal-Super-RARE-1-of-only-27-Great-cruiser-/300774128659?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item460788fc13#v4-
Young Ed
I'd like to see their supposed certification. And if the paint issues were truly a quick cheap fix wouldn't they have just done them??
Andydodge
Yep, everything about it says Chrysler.......only 27 made?............lol........would love to see the documentation too.......lol.........andyd

greg g
documentation is likely a swaped plymouth title and serial number assigned to Chrysler to make it something its not.
B-Watson
The car is a 1941 Chrysler 2-door sedan. The body is larger than the Plymouth as is the rear window. The Royal bit probably came from the Royal nameplates on the sides of the hood as 6-cylinder Chryslers came as either Royal or Windsor. The Chrysler, DeSoto and Dodge used a different, and larger, body than the Plymouth from 1941 through 1948. The larger body offered a 2-door sedan with opening vent wings on the rear side windows. . Plymouthy Adams
the fact that the car only drew 7900.00 max bid pretty much sums up the car business today..money for toys is at an all time low it seems..
Daliant.
I see it has the ultra rare 350/700r4 combo, and it also has the 1 of 1 ever built custom royal brougham power leather 80's Cadillac interior. I'll bet the only thing "Plymouth" on that car is the serial #s, other than that it's a Chrysler. If it truly was 1 of 27 built then turning it into an 80's style street rod flushes any of the value of it being rare right down the toilet. Plymouthy Adams
I really thing most folks viewing the ad was a bit more informed than the seller ..one 5 MPH inpct front or rear would cream the car..I do not care for vehicles without bumpers but then, that is just me..and lose the louvers..egads The car is well assembled if you care for the components used...to that end the car has its merits

B-Watson
The scalloping above the instrument cluster and the glove box was used only on 1941 and 1942 Chryslers. The 1940 Chrysler used a flat top between the windshield and the instrument panel with a rolled front edge on either side of the centre radio section. The 1946-48 Chrysler used the same basic design of the 1941-42 models, but again used a rolled edge instead of the scallops.

Ricky Luke
Wasn't 1941 the first year of the clam shell hood? Rick
B-Watson
Wasn't 1941 the first year of the clam shell hood? Rick The big body cars (Dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler) still used wings. The small body cars, Plymouth and Plymouth-bodied Dodge, used the new one-piece clam shell hood.
