Gents,

Got a call from the surgeon who removed my right kidney on 3-19 and he said the whole issue, kidney and cancer and everything else, came out as one "unit" with no indications of anything left behind. That doesn't mean I'm entirely cured without a possibility of any recurrence but it does mean all I need to do at the present is heal from the surgery and get on with a normal life.

Since so many of you sent your thoughts and prayers I feel I owe it to you to tell you the outcome but at the same time I can't help but feel as though I'm bragging, as if I had much to do with it. My thoughts turn instead to our families and members who drew a shorter straw than I and were not so fortunate; those good and noble folk who weren't given the opportunity of a second chance, and I feel humbled.

Let our thoughts not turn to celebration for my good fortune so much as may we all embrace each rising sun with the knowledge that it is never too late to do the right thing, whatever that may be.

There is no greater fortune than to be blessed with the potential of a new day. Congratulations on your good news and God speed with your healing.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you....and keep up the great perspective. I would guess that most of us know of someone who drew the short straw in life much too early and aren't with us any longer. Enjoy each day and be thankful that you can.:)

Randy,

That is good news and it is great to know that there was a spare part in there just waiting to be used, take care now, there is only one left!
