I know I'm going to hear a bunch of comments, but I'm tough even at my age. Who makes engine mounts to install a small block Chevy in my P-15? Thanks in advance.

:eek::rolleyes:

Not certain that they are still in business, but you could try Plydo. They were located in W. Virginia. I know that the previous owner passed away, but they may still be in business.

I was hoping you wouldn't find out, I swore Lonnie to secrecy.

I believe Chassis Engineering has them in the ford biscuit style. You will have to trim and weld in the frame side of the mounts though, in case your looking for a bolt in deal. I just installed my 318 with their mounts.

Butch's also sells mounts for a small block Mopar in the P15, so you can leave your hood open at shows. :D

I have a friend who had a SBC in a 40 Ford Coupe that he adaptrd 289 mustang valve covers to and people would come by and look under the hood at car shows and say its good to see a Ford engine in a Ford never noticing that the distributor was in the rear not in the front and the water pump and accessory drive was all wrong. All they could see were those Shelby Mustang valve covers.

Canadian Pontiacs came with SBC's and had "PONTIAC" embossed into the valve covers. That'll mess with some heads!!!

You just need to find a set of valve covers:D

Hotrodding is about putting what ever in what ever. Though I'm not a fan of the sbc because they are like belly buttons (everyone has them) who cares. But swapping valve covers to hide them is as bad as those Hemi valve covers on sbc's. I think whatever mounts you find, welding and modification will be necessary. Don't know of a bolt in kit.

I recently sold a set of these sbc mounts...I had no need for them...they came with a car I bought that was started but never completed....thankfully only engine and tranny was removed and all the rest was intact....I went with Mopar power...sold them plus the sbc and th350 and other things like GM column...anyway, these mounts were weld in and I think each mount comprised of three pieces of plate steel and then the rubber isolator..these were originally a PLYDO item..I do believe PLYDO is out of business..or if not they are not taking calls or answering e-mail..am sure toher companies either have the same thing/setup or something similar..

There's a guy in Idaho who makes these script to put on your valve covers and you can specify whatever you want, Packard, Old Man, Philly Cheese Steak, almost anything. Here's a sample:

Don, you KNOW you want a Hemi!

I have to admit that's fast becomming my favorate street rod, if only it had a Mouse motor.

While I admit your motor choice baffles me, I sure can admire a guy for sticking to his guns:)

After working for 30+ years for the Mouse motor makers as a factory rep I have a soft spot, in my heart as well as my head. But my first car was a P-15 in 1960:
