blueskies Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm (hoping) driving my '50 to Tulsa... it's 3,000+ miles round trip. An epic road trip for my 8 year old son and me. I have a room at the Convention Center Downtown Doubletree hotel for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (14th,15th,16th of June). Pete Quote
Johnny S Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm still planning on driving as well. But only 1500 round trip for me. And, I've still got little things at the moment that need fixin' and a couple shake-down runs. Have rooms at the Double Tree. Registering for the Open show. Have tickets for the Convention Center "revealing" event and the Invitation Only Car Show (as a gawker only). Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Planning to drive the Plym.....staying at a Ramada Inn at 51st & Yale area. About 4 or 5 miles maybe from downtown. Drove the route last weekend - it's not real hard to get down there. Going by way of old Rt 66 thru Okla to stay off the 75 mph turnpike..... Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I will not be able to make it. Dennis:( Quote
Dwight Pectol Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I would love to be there but family commitments wont let me:( You all have fun and drive safe... DW Quote
Normspeed Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'd love to but it's happening about 2 years early for me. Still gotta go to work, at least occasionally. Quote
Ken Bartz Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 We are going to Tulsa but will not drive a Plymouth. We will be taking extra vacation time at Branson, MO timeshare before Tulsarama. I would be very interested in meeting some of you folks while at Tulsa. Quote
RobertKB Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I am not going but know I will feel like I was there from all the pictures posted by those who did go. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I haven't answered the poll yet because I'm not sure I'll be able to go. I do have a room reserved so I can go if I am able. I'd like to drive the plymouth if I go even if it is funky looking! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Ed, Just put one of these signs in the car. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Norm I love it! I will be putting one of these in my car regardless of Tulsa. Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I won't have all my projects done before Tulsa, so I am canceling and going to Woodward Dream Cruise once again instead in August. I just kept taking things off the car for cleaning and paint while waiting for the motor to come back from the machinist. Now I have a front end kit coming, going to rewire the whole front clip to hide every wire from under the hood. Just to much stuff. Plus some more changes in engine rebuild to get MP ( as in more power) for the flathead. Better air flow for the AC, the list goes on and on. Ya all have fun. I got my tickets for the unveiling and car show from the Prowler Club so I will be giving those back to them, but I do have res. at the Double Tree for a week's stay that I will be canceling this week. If anyone wants them, let me know and I see if I can make it happen. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I would love to be there but family commitments wont let me:( You all have fun and drive safe... DW Everytime I see a picture of this coupe I start to drool... Quote
eric wissing Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I agree with Tim, Dwight's car is great looking. I love the color. Seems so Period Correct. I am jealous. Eric Quote
Guest 50Plymouth Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I won't have all my projects done before Tulsa, so I am canceling and going to Woodward Dream Cruise once again instead in August. I used to live right by Woodward and did the Dream Cruise (or traffic jam..) every year when I had an amc AMX (kind of a late "adopted" mopar right?) Concerning Tulsa, I will not be going. But will eagerly await others photo's as well! Even if I could go or had a car my second child is due to arrive around then and I believe I would be in grave trouble if not around Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I'll be up in Vancouver on a family vacation at that time... You guys who are going need to get together, take a group picture, and post it for the rest of us to enjoy. Have fun! Quote
James_Douglas Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I am giving it a little thought. I wish I had more time to test and run the new transmission and a few other things. If I did it is a long trip. Almost 4000 miles round trip. With my car which gets @ 17 MPG I am looking at something like 240 gallons of fuel. At $4.00/gal that will run me close to $1000 just in fuel. So, I will ponder the thought. Best, James Quote
Normspeed Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 Norm, how about one that says, "It's OK to laugh as long as you don't point". Ed' date='Just put one of these signs in the car.[/quote'] Quote
1just4don Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I have to work also. But there is GOOD news for James Douglas, Get out of California as soon as possible and you can probably save a buck a gallon on the price. I dont know how all you fornian's can take all those high gas prices, high rent, high house costs?? It would drive me nuts for sure!! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 Norm, how about one that says, "It's OK to laugh as long as you don't point". Norm, You can put anything on that sign you want as long as it fits the page. They are easy to make. If you can't do it, what do you want it to say. I'll email it to you. If you have MS Word on your computer with the certificate templates you're all set. Just delete the words on the certificate and insert your own. That's how I made that one. Quote
