deathbound Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Hey, not sure if this is the section for an intro, but here goes. Name is Derek from Long Beach, Ca. I have checked on this site for about a year or so & decided to finally join. I have a 1938 Plymouth P6 Coupe(site friendly???), I've had it for about a year, mainly stock, except converted to 12 volt & in the process of adding an Offy dual carb intake & Langdon's split headers, also rewiring with an excellent condition stock wiring harness I found on ebay. I'm sure I'll have questions & hopefully contribute. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Derek, Welcome to the forum. I really like your car. Jim Yergin Quote
Robin (UK) Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 That's a beauty! Welcome aboard. I'm running twin carbs and Fenton headers - it makes a huge difference. Have fun. Robin. Quote

RobertKB Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) Derek, welcome to a great forum. Lots of old Mopars here from late 20's to late 50's. I have four old flatties and one is also a kissing cousin to your car as it is a '38 Chrysler Royal. You will like the forum. Glad to hear you are going to keep it basically stock! pflaming Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 That is the first time I've seen a '38 Plymouth, nice, very nice. Quote
Robert Horne Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Welcome Derek, You will find a wide variety of Mopars here, all are welcome. Bought my 38s in 1986. Quote
deathbound Posted October 24, 2010 Author Report Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) Thanks for all the welcomes & pics of your cars-all fine examples! I will get some interior & engine pics soon, but not complete due to the fact I'm in the middle of a re-wire & adding the new intake/exhaust. Because I would like a more nostalgic look, the only thing I'm not totally happy with are the look of the dual Carter Weber 2 barrel carbs w/electric choke (as recommended for good driveability), but I would really like to run 2 of the stock carbs (I think it's either a Carter C6J1 or C6K1), I have 1 off my car, so if anyone has a nice one "just laying around" that wants to part with it, let me know. My 38 Coupe, Black with tan interior, came from Jefferson, Ohio. A few months ago, I seen another 38, all original black/tan, for sale in Jeffernon, Ohio. Quote

deathbound Posted October 24, 2010 Author Report Posted October 24, 2010 Ohio to California is a long haul. Did you drive it home? No, I had it shipped, would've been a nice drive though. You'd better go check your garage.:DTom Yep, it's still there! Quote
HughForrest Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 George Aasche supplied me with 2 re-jetted original style Carters for my dual setup. It has been a few years and they still run flawlessly. I have a core carb or 2 for you if you find yourself in Santa Cruz. Quote
Greenbomb Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Oh, yeah! I like it! Welcome- there's lotsa info and fun here. If you don't mind saying, how much did it cost to ship the car. I've always wondered about that. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) A guy who lives down the street from me recently bought a 38 Plym coupe in either Dallas or Houston. Is pretty solid, but missing running gear, steering wheel, interior and some other things. He's going to make it a street rod since so much is gone. Should be nice when it gets done. Welcome.
