Looks good. I like the fogs lamps, I run mine nearly all the time till it gets really dark. They do help in the rain too.

greg, i you dont mind me asking how do you have them wired up? i kinda in the dark about this (pun intended) i want to run them all the time but i want to make sure i dont leve them on and risk a dead battery....any imput will help... :)

So you want them as running lights??? with out a switch???or

follow the schematic

power can be acc term on the starter switch or you can pull it from the ign coil terminal. Either one will be off when the engine is not running.

if you want to get fancy you can put in a relay but a 20 amp fuse and 12 gauge wire should do you. the lights should be self grounding when you attach them to the car. If the lights have 2 wires ( not usual with these old ones) then thn one of them will need to go to ground. The three line symbol signifies ground. The relay allows you to pull power from the battery for the lamp, and a low load through the switch but its probably not necessary for the fogs.

gotcha! thanks greg g, i will run them thru the headlight swith...i think that way they will be on when the headlights are on. but off during the day... thanks for the diagram and input. . .

There is a pretty big load on the head lamp switch already, the fogs will add basically another set of high beams. I would recommend an independent power source source.

Plus that switch has the only fuse so when it blows all lights are gone.

Besides you can leave the lights on when the engine is off.

i see your point....hummm back to the drawing board for me...I want to add a switch but i dont want it to be a sore point in the dash...

greg, could he get by with using a relay for the headlights and also

one for the driving lights to reduce load on the headlight switch?

With leaving them on all the time with lights, you'd need to make sure

they were focused down low enough not to blind oncoming traffic.

nice!

i'm also working on turning the 40 into some kind of bomb, currently trying to

find a good shape for the skirts.

sadly i cannot upload my pics any more, the pixpack server i used seems to be having trouble...

i'm also trying to get headlamp visors and a traffic light viewer, and yellow fog lights are on the list, they look great!

Look under the edge of your dash board near the hood cable. there should be a hole that is just right for a pull push or toggle switch. It a handy place but nearly invisible location. I also have a blank plug in the panel with the ign switch and heater controls.

Yes a relay would help witht he load of two sets of lights. You could also pick up power at the juction block on the radiator support and just grab the terminal for the low beams, go through a fuse to the lamps. My personal preferece is to have them independly switched so I can run parking lights and fogs without head lamps, or in combination with low beams and or high beams, although highbeams in the fog are useless. but lows and fogs in rain or mist gives good results.

looking forward to skirt pics!

4" is tough, you'll have to work on your springs. don't try blocks,

they're no good for more than 2" with stock rear leafs...

years ago I took a ski trip to Mt. Assiniboine arranged through the travel department of the Sports Chalet in La Cañada. We flew into Calgary and went to the local rent-a-wreck where there was a bit of discussion about how one was to spell "cañada". We were pronouncing it as a typical Californian might, in a probably incorrect Spanish way. Finally we spelled it out "c" "a" "n" "a" "d" "a" and the startled clerk realized that it was the same as Canada. (Lets see if the "latin small letter n with tilda" makes it through the discussion forum's software.)

Mack, I have an extra switch somewhere if you want it. BTW, that looks great! Let me know when you're driving her over.
