p15-1948 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Anyone re-popping these? I sure need a nice one. Thanks Quote
48P15Annie Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 Heh, I could use one too I want to light mine up. -nod nod- Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 There have been some on ebay, in colors even, but I think they are solid and not hollow like the originals. The guy I got mine from a while back indicated he was not making any more........he was selling them for around $125. They were clear plastic and hollow. I looked on ebay and don't see any of those for sale right now. If you have an old plastic that isn't too totally bad, they can be polished some and made to look a bit better. Lighting an ornament up is pretty simple. They did offer an accessory light kit in the old days, but you can do what greg g did - I believe he used a side marker light from the auto supply. Quote
CUHEMIDA Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 they use to be a guy in CT that restored them can't remember his name not even sure he is still alive maybe someone might know him he did a really nice job he was able to replace missing parts and match the colors Quote
Frank Elder Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I believe Frank M. from Omaha has a son who makes them, shoot him a PM and see. Although it might be just the light kit......I am not sure. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 i have a few repro ornaments if you are interested. Quote
Skrambler Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I've got one spectacular NOS one, still in the box and plastic wrap. Rock solid and perfect in every manor. If interested.... Quote
p15-1948 Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 Got the NOS piece from SKrambler, really nice. Mike Quote
james49ply Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 they are nice lighted, used two small blade bulbs and sockets wired in series. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 for the record and maybe for you to copy..here is an original light bulb bracket for the P15 hood ornament.. 1 Quote
busycoupe Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 The lighted hood ornament looks really cool! Unfortunately I have a Dodge. Has anyone ever seen a light up rams head? I doubt it was a factory option, but perhaps one existed on the aftermarket. Any body have one? Quote

I doubt it was a factory option, but perhaps one existed on the aftermarket. Any body have one? Couldn't a two-piece mold be made of the ram's head and then cast in Lucite w/ a light behind? I simply don't know, but may be similar to the lighted Chief Pontiac. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Can't recall that I've ever seen a plastic ornament for the D24. Would be kinda cool, though. The ball of invention is in your court. Quote
p15-1948 Posted January 7, 2018 Author Report Posted January 7, 2018 Well that NOS piece was so nice I ended up using a really nice used piece. Couldn't stand to put the NOS piece on the car.... Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 be careful, as some of the re-pops are solid acrylic and will not support the lighting fixture that is optional for these hoods. read the ad and if in question, drop them a line to be sure prior to bidding Quote
jiffyjet1011 Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 his are hollow and allow the light. Quote
