1940plymouth Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 My son and I have been given a 1948 Pontiac that has been sitting for twenty years, but has had some body work done before she started to sit. I have been looking for a forum for Pontiacs of the '40's on Google, but haven't been able to find one. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks, Bob Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 I meant to post this photo, but hit the wrong key, silly me It is going require lots of work, but for free, can't let it pass and he didn't want to scrap it Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Yes I have some suggestions. What suggestions are you looking for? Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 Don, Any forums that cover the Pontiacs. I don't imagine they are as good as this one, but I would think there is a forum out there, but then again, maybe not Quote
55 Fargo Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Here you go Bob, AACA has a Flat Head Pontiac forum, uses a similar format to this forum...Fred http://forums.aaca.org/f191/ Quote
greg g Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) Think they were know as Silver Streaks, maybe something there. and they were real popular withthe low rider crowd, so there might be some info there. Is it a 6 or 8?? Neighbor down the street had one when I was a kid, 41 8 four door, Man that was a big car. Edited September 25, 2010 by greg g Quote
JerseyHarold Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Congrats on the new car. It has a lot of potential. Found the forum below, maybe it will be useful: http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=62&jfile=forumdisplay.php&f=29 Quote
RobertKB Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Those are very nice cars. After a '40'sMopar that would be my next choice. That looks like a two door fastback model which was my favourite of all the '46-'48Pontiacs. I think they are a much nice car than the same year Chevs. Quote

JerseyHarold Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Bob, You may also want to check postwar Chevy websites since they were similar to Pontiac. Harold Quote
TodFitch Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Looks like there is a forum on the Oakland-Pontiac International club's web site: http://www.poci.org/ Quote
