Niel Hoback Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 It would look so much better with some mudflaps, static straps, and curb feelers. Quote

Mark Haymond Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 This looks like some of the car houses used by dust bowl era migrant workers in California. Some used conventional tents on the ground as they followed the crops. Some built a box like this on a car chassis and stayed in it at night. Photographer Dorthea Lang took some photos of these vehicles in her travels. Quote
PatS.... Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Here's a direct link to some of Dorothea Lang's amazing photographs of the dustbowl. http://www.shorpy.com/dorothea-lange-photographs Click on "View Full Size" for some detail we seldom see in today's photographs. Quite a few old "motorhomes" Quote

Greenbomb Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I had an uncle once who had about a '30 Ford truck with a little house on the back very similar to that. Complete with wood burning stove. It was his huntin' rig. Quote
Olddaddy Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 At the rate things are going in the country that Ford motorhome will be prime real estate in no time at all. I might want to rent it Don if you could spare it for awhile. Quote
