drpreposterous Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Greetings from Detroit! (we're still here!), Guys, please tell me your impressions of this one: http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/cto/1675718226.html I'd rather have stock wheels myself and a replated bumper, but--other than that, I'm dying to join this forum as an owner this year. I'm done window shopping. Cheers, Brian:) Quote
Frank Elder Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Welcome! If you got the BANK, go look at it and decide:)it looks nice from here. Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Oh God......Yes....dump those wheels immediately. They would look better on a hot rodded stage coach. The rest looks good and I agree about the front bumper. Quote
RobertKB Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Welcome to the forum. Nice car and a decent price if it is as good as it sounds in the listing. Like the others I would change the wheels for the original, plate the bumper, and put the stance back to original. This could be a very nice driver needing little work to have a nice reliable car. Definitely worth checking out. Good luck! Quote
michael.warshaw Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 for 6500 thats bassically free. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 I agree. Car looks nice, except for the wheels. Quote
woodie49 Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 I think it is a great looking car and seems like a bargain for the price. I guess I have a hard time beleiving 7,000 original miles. But you should be able to tell if that makes any sense when you see it. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 (edited) I concur with the others. Sounds nice.....I would definitely check it out. Seller says he has original wheels. Needs the stance adjusted a bit. The interior, while nowhere close to original, looks good. These days, a good upholstry job costs about half the asking price of the car. Looks like they left off the arm rests. Of course, my favorite is the Chrysler chrome wire wheels......the new ones have gotten kinda pricey at about $1600 a set. dezeldoc Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Tell them to knock off a grand and keep the butt ugly wheels. also loose the shackles in the back and spring spacers in the front and chrome the front bumper. other than that is a nice looking car. Quote
ptwothree Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Ditto.......the 7000 mi does seem a bit fishy. Also, at that price, make sure the floors and trunk are rust free.... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 In looking at the picture of the coupe for sale, I see they have either removed or painted over the stainless trim. I personally would want to put some back on, eventually. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 This car looks good if you get past the wheels and bumpers. When I bought my car 8 years ago I paid less than half of the price of this car. However the interior of this car is much better than the interior in my car. So the price of this car in my opinion is a little on the high side but I would hardley consider it "free". Quote
Young Ed Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Don its also a coupe which draws a higher price. I think its a good start and a good price. And you don't need to have a car to join the forum. I joined in years before I got my p15. Quote
