screwshiney Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 thanks man, and i understand not everyone will like the interior but that is also part of the reason i did it haha. hey we all love pics right, even if it's a train wreck it's still cool to look at... or laugh at. more progress this weekend, hoping to have it all back together by sunday. screwshiney Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 ha well didnt' get to do much on the car this weekend. i got tired of the mess in the shop so we decided to clean it up and move some stuff around. i did manage to get the back seat wraped. i am really happy with the way it came out. also i started working out the rear tail light section.... and now i need a taillight bezel too . i also help my buddies son work on his 81 Datsun pick up. here are some pics to hold you guys over. i also took a few more of the bike too b/c i had a few questions on it. it's actually a 69 honda 175 Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 That's the first '69 Honda I've seen with a single sided aluminumn swing arm. Where's the sub frame for your seat? What's the pickup with the 4 link and bags? Merle Quote
screwshiney Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 sorry i still have more pics to update, got tied up with work tho haha. yea the bikes has been modded a bit the pick up is a 81 datsun ext cab before somewhat after Quote
Young Ed Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 What are your plans for the binder? Quote
screwshiney Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) well actually i'm trying to sell it. it was orig going to be a cummins rat/street rod. but that drivetrain went to the newer reg cab in front of it. that is whats under the car cover next to the bike. here are some pics of the tail light section. it's getting there. you can see some of the seat in this one before. Merle Coggins Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 I'm going to guess an 81 Datsun DUH!!! I even read that in the post but didn't connect it to the pictures. It's been a long week today. Quote
48P15Annie Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 WOW! AWESOME progress on it! Those floors & rockers look great! The camouflage isn't my style, but, you did a GREAT job on those interior panels. Very well done, looks nice. Can't wait to see the seats & headliner! Keep posting lots of pics!!! Quote
screwshiney Posted January 6, 2010 Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 thanks kyle, yea hopefully i have time to get them done sat and sunday. i'm at least shooting to have the seats done. still tossing around ideas on how to do the headliner. Quote
pflaming Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Headliner? I would put a large window in so I could shoot from the inside! Would make a great rabbit hunting car! I'm just amazed at your metal skills. Are your married? Wife must be most tolerent. Great work. Quote
screwshiney Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 thanks man, i'm learning as i go. hmm i do have a power sunroof i'm not using lol. ha nope not married yet. i'm fortunate enough to have a girlfriend that like to be right in there with me. this is going to be her car, the day i brought it home she fell in love, she doesn't even want it painted lol. Cpt.Fred Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 please dont paint please dont paint pretty puuulllleeeeze! you can never get this look back, be careful with it. a "gunturret" still seems a good idea:rolleyes: just kidding... Quote
Young Ed Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Id say with the green and rust colors its already pretty well camo'd Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 My vote is for leaving it alone. The way it looks now reminds me of how these Plymouths looked in the sixties and seventies when they were just old used cars. Quote
screwshiney Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) there is no way in hell i would paint it. hell people pay good money for patina airbrush jobs like this. ha it only cost me $300. i didn't get much done this weekend. i started to redo the front seat but got side tracked with my Duramax and my girls truck. here is the seat stripped down. i was going to try and just re-use the orig cushion but it was too far gone. SO i robbed the bottom off my K-20 seat. it's not perfect but it's better than what was there. i had to cut it down a bit to macth the seat frame and also add a small piece of foam to fix the re-entry burn from 40+ years of use. i'll still have to get some updated pics of it all covered up. the old cheese cloth and wicker junk donor oh and the girlfriends headliner in her exploder... yes that's tow mater and lightning mcqueen lol Edited January 11, 2010 by screwshiney Quote
