dezeldoc Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Man First Ed, then Farrah, then the queen of pop, now poor ol' Billy Mays! so much for the old wives tale of going in 3's! Quote
greg g Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 He was just on one of the late nights shows. He was on a USAirways flight that made a rough landing. Told his wife he got hit on the head, and complained about a headache before he went to bed. Quote
Frank Elder Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Don't forget David Carradine.....grasshopper. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 For the older folks, Gale Storm died Saturday. Popular on tv in the '50's. Also in movies and recordings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3uTTsjPFcc Quote

Dennis_MN Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 After Michael Jackson died, fans ran out to order his CD's Videos etc, I wonder if Billy Mays fans will hurry up and order Oxy-clean or something. Dennis Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I hate to talk about the man but I thought he was ok till I saw the tv reality show..I wonder how much was the real Billy and what was TV hype...did not like the reality Billy..what a strange circumstance about his death..! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I don't know if there are any blues fans in the crowd, besides me, but an addition to the list is Ms Koko Taylor, "Queen of the Blues", who passed on June 3rd due to complications from a surgery. She was 80. Quote
radioguy7 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Billy was a great guy, loved the reality show as I know most everyone did. His brand of humor reminds me a lot of my late uncle. I was very saddened to hear he has passed totally unexpected. Quote
dezeldoc Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 The thing that gets me is as soon as it was official that MJ died everything else in the world went blank, no more on iran, north korea or even FF's death for that matter. the media these days is a one sided joke, bending everything to suit them and try and make us beleive that what they say is the truth. radioguy7 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I watch very little TV, most of it is garbage, even the news is garbage. I'm at the point that I could care less what is going on in the world, as long as it doesn't affect my little world then I really don't care. Sorry if that sounds selfish but really, does any of it matter?? Politicians will always be crooked, celebrities will always be rich and famous and worth more as a human than any other common man, peope will always be killing each other, criminals will always be stealing or doing someone wrong, corporations will always get away with whatever they want, etc...... blah blah blah Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 The sad part of it is -- some of what those people do DOES affect us. Like the a$$es running these brokerage houses and big corporations etc that have now caused a problem for the entire country. Quote

Jims50chrysler Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 I get more and more frustrated with todays society when I watch TV... yesterday I watch a news program and a guy (Mr White I belive) that Kills 2 People in California (Harvey? Milk and the Mayor of the City) gets 12 years and he is out...today They toss a stockbroker type in jail for 150 years and he will never get out....now both of these people have committed terrible crimes and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law but how do they justify such extreme differences in the sentences? ya I don't watch much. Charlie Olson Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 I had the pleasure of knowing Chico Chism, an old time/long time Blues drummer. He died two years ago and BB King came to his memorial service. I just hope BB King lives for a long time more; really a nice man... Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 It's all about money and ratings. Since the general public gets off on celeb lives instead of their own' date=' they keep reporting the same thing over and over. OK, tell me so and so past away. But........all this other garbage they go on and on about, I don't want to hear. It's none of my business. I just turn off the TV when they start that junk, or flip to another channel showing reruns.[/quote']My sentiments exactly. Now, when someone famous dies, I stay away from the news until it's safe to go back. Quote
