i understand it is 'to each his own' but sometime yu have to realize that after ALL THAT $$$$ put into a crazy custom...the original car is worth more

than the custom is.....in most cases.

Look at the discription of this car, In every other paragraph he is conterdicting himself.

Example: "It features a 1941 Cadillac grill and hood ornament, with 1948 Mercury tail lights. Everything else on the body and interior is original."

"The exterior paint is absolutely dazzling (base/clear), 94 louvers in the hood, shaved door handles, Frenched headlights and antenna. New steering column, wheel and pump for the power steering. Tires are new with real Chrysler wire wheels."

What is original about those changes?

Sorry.

But that looks to me like a lesson in how to make a beautiful car look ugly.

Restored would be great.

Vintage-style custom would be great.

Modern street rod with all sorts of tricks that just don't work?... No thank you!

Hugs the monitor every time I see this car .... Favorite part is he kept the old chalk markings on the fire wall from when it was being built..... I have kept mine as well.

Agreed.... its like every car that people throw money at these days, its only as good as it was stock.

Its like taking a honda civic and spending $50,000 on doing it up , When you take all that tupperware off it and unbolt the hair dryer that you strapped to the engine to make it go faster its still a compact 4 cyl sh#t box it was worth $20,000 to buy new ... you got it for $5,000 and spent $50,000 on it ... now you would be lucky to get $15,000 for it ..... why do it in the first place.

Take the $55,000 and go buy yourself a fully restored CUDA ... Plenty of power, the chicks will dig it , the cool factor is up the waaazoooo and your saving a car from the bone yard. everyone wins.

Half arsed customs kill cars, this orange monstrosity would have been OK if not for the slap together grill (painted P15 would have been better), the hood ornament that could pass as a comercial airliner and and whats going on with that crap flame job , if you could even call them flames ???

If you absolutely have to hot rod something stick to the businessmens coup ...they offer the sleek lines to start with so you dont have to bog (bondo) everything up or create fibregalss pannels.

end rant :P

I'm into street rods and customs, but that car is a bit over the top for me. It is very gaudy. I like the shaved handles, tailgate chains, bed stake pockets, etc. Just not into the remoulding of an entire panel.

Different strokes for different folks. :D

Nicely restored cars are way better than this monstrosity. The '49 Dodge Wayfarer and the '47 Town and Country are beautiful cars. That orange thing could have been equally nice if done original. I likes 'em original, not oranginal. Stock rocks!:P

I rather like the "original" interior Riight....

And the "original" trunk.....

That gold Chevy custom (with the lower half Lincoln bumper) looks

kinda like a mad catfish.
