Tim Frank Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 There is the occasional post in here detailing some significant alteration to a vehicle that leaves the original stock design a remote and fading memory. This usually draws some insightful and spirited opinions....pro or con; I must admit that I usually shrug and think "to each their own/it's theirs so not really any of my business/it must make them happy" or something like that. I saw this vehicle the other day, and I have to admit, my first reaction was "Good Lord....why...don't they know the 60s were 40 years ago???" The Good Lord still has not responded. Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 How many alternators does he need? Quote
Death Dodger Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 I wonder what he spends per month on bulbs? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 I do believe I would be embarrassed to even approach that van in fear someone might think I am the owner Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 I do believe I would be embarrassed to even approach that van in fear someone might think I am the owner That is the Tim Allen van not the Tim Adams van. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Regardless of who owns that van, you'd better have some dark glasses on when and if they turn on all those lights. That is, if all of them actually light up. Quote
De Soto Frank Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 (Anybody else smell ozone ?) Don't know about where that van lives, but here in PA, if there's a light fixture on a vehicle, it must be kept in working order... this owner must spend all his spare time chasing burn-outs ! I wonder if there's a computer inside that runs a light show ? Maybe a loudspeaker that plays "Here Comes the Sun" ???? ( Or the theme from "Close Encounters" ? ) ( Or maybe I'm just jealous... ) Quote
Young Ed Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Not sure very many states have that rule. MN sure doesn't. Quote
hkestes41 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Here is one we saw in New Orleans. For the life of me I don't know why my wife wanted her picture taken with it but she did. So, as any good husband does I just said "yes dear" and took the picture. Was all done with mosaic beads and sea shells. Quote
dezeldoc Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 That guy really needs to stop hanging aroung truck stops!! The other one says "Save a whale Hug a bug":D Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Your wife have one of them there sequine machines by Ronco..watch out ..you may get some real fancy seatcovers yet Quote
pflaming Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Wonder what the van looks like at night with the lights on? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I am sure if that thing was all lit up at night Officer Kil O. Watt will be busy passing out his autograph Quote
Don Jordan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I was wondering what the guy with the van thinks about people that sink so much money into a 60 year old car. I have been spending my time sanding/wire brushing/painting a frame that no one will ever see. (sort of like peeing in a wet suit - no one can tell but you still get a warm feeling) I guess if you want to be noticed that would be one way to go. Like everyone else I'd like to see it at night. Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Like peeing in a wetsuit? LOL Quote
littleman Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Think that guy got mixed up about the electric car craze? Quote
windsor8 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I got for you. I saw this "altered from stock" on the road in Wyoming last summer. Quote
