  1. Tim I've got a 2004 quad cab, and was thinking yesterday while driving around town, wonder how much of this truck would adapt to my p-15. Not that I'm thinking about doing that, just something to think about in the future.
  2. I just looked at those pictures again. Had he put the Dakota interior in it too? Looks like those interior trim panels are similar to Dakota as well as the steering wheel.
  3. Those new gauges are kind of neat. I've got classic instrument gauges in my Dodge and like them a lot. When I converted to 12 volt in my Plymouth, I put all new bulbs in and I haven't had a problem with dimness. It is always super bright. Could your old wiring have maybe had something to do with the dimness of the cluster?
  4. Looks like he took a late nineties Dakota and pretty much used all of it and swapped in the 41 Dodge parts. Different and does nothing for me, but it's all Dodge isn't it?
  5. Link to my pics from the event. http://s167.photobucket.com/user/siufan6/library/Louisville%20SRN%202014
  6. I agree we should try to do a meet and greet. They have a special parking area on Saturday for mopars, called mopar country. I walked up and checked it out yesterday. About 30 or so cars parked up there. I took a bunch of pictures. I'll get them uploaded to photobucket later today and share them. Another show you need to check out is frog follies in Evansville indiana. All pre 49 cars, swap meet is huge, and the food, entry, etc is very affordable.
  7. Hey Ssnowden. I see you got a pic of my car, but I didn't see you. Should have looked me up, I was sitting in the tent right in front of the car. Just got home a little while ago and had a great time again this year. I see you got a picture of another D-24 town sedan. I guess I missed that one. Neat pics, thanks for sharing! This pic is of my car. I see from your photos you like satin black cars too.
  8. Check with nw transmissions, they should have the parts you need. Main trans box mean that the main part of the transmission is pretty much the same as a standard 3 speed. I found most of my information from the service manual and the borg warner manual on this site.
  9. I studied a manual for weeks and weeks when I took mine apart. Had a friends help, so that did make things a bit easier. It's not super complicated, but with all those parts out and thrown about it can be a little overwhelming.
  10. I think you hit it on the head here. Ammeter has to be in series, or in the circuit. Voltmeter just measures voltage of the circuit and all you need is a power source to it, then to ground. Pretty sure it is wired about the same way originally. Without looking at the wiring diagram I can't remember.
  11. I removed the dash in my car and the front seat when rewiring my Plymouth. Still had a bit of a headache at times. Not sure if so much from laying upside down, or the job itself. You shouldn't have any troubles with your wiring kit Don. Just run the wires to the right accessories, lamps, and gauges. In my opinion much easier than trying to recreate the harness circuit by circuit. Plus you get the added bonus of a fuse panel.
  12. Kwikwire is another good source. I have a harness from them in my dodge. Wires are labeled what they are for. I rewired my Plymouth as original, and added a small fuse block to run my additional accessories, such as wipers, stereo, and cigarette lighter. Haven't had any problems, and did as Ed did, used the wire gauge off of the '49 diagram.
  13. The front seats in my '47 Dodge are out of a 99-02 Chevy Silverado. They have integral seat belts and fold down arm rests. They are full power too with lumbar. I've been checking on seat options lately and looks like the Chrysler sebring convertibles had integral seat belts in their front seats too. Many GM trucks and suv's in the 2000's had front seats with the integral seat belts and I'm pretty sure some of the back seats had integral seat belts too. These seats fit my car pretty nice, are comfortable, and leave enough space for a small center console if so desired.
  14. Mark another source is Northwest Transmissions. I bought an entire gasket kit from them with seals and all if I remember.
  15. I have wheel cylinders on my Plymouth from Bernbaum. No issues to date and that's been about 10 years ago.
  16. Do a forum search for 12v fuel sending unit. You should find some information that may have already been discussed about it. I think it has been discussed before and there were several ideas.
  17. You can go with a stock sending unit if you are planning on using an original gauge. Just have to use a voltage drop going to the power on the gauge. You can buy a runtz from Speedway motors and it works well. I've had mine on for five years and no issues. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Runtz-12-Volt-to-6-Volt-Reducers,2374.html If you are replacing it and wanting a cheaper route of sending unit I think some others have used a unit that is offered by JC whitney. Others will have to chime in on that as I have not had any experience with it.
  18. Congrats Ed! Your oldest is getting big too. Time sure flies after the kids arrive.
  19. I agree these are super bright and will last a long time. I need to get a set for my Plymouth. Got a set of led '50 pontiac tail lamps on the Dodge and they are very bright. Better to be safe than sorry these days with the way people drive.
  20. That's a neat pic. I still love the looks of the town sedans.
  21. Thanks for the pics. I thought I read where WPC 2015 will be in Springfield, IL? If so I'd like the make the trip up to check it out, if nothing else. Looks like they had nice weather for the event this year.
  22. I'll be there Thursday and leaving Saturday afternoon. I'll be in the black Dodge parked behind the exposition center on the grass. I'm sure you can find me under a tent in that area or in the exposition center drooling over parts.
  23. You probably would have had a noticeable engine misfire. When i had a head gasket failure between 5 and 6 it missed badly.
  24. I bought one from Speedway motors, I wasn't very expensive if I remember.
  25. I'll look for you. I will be out there all weekend in the dodge. We park up front just south of the main gate. I hope to get up to Lebanon for the Lakers cruise at some point this summer, but so far had other things going on.
