  1. Home now. Snapped a quick pic while walking past. The Meadowbrook ran great! It was a beautiful, cool 78F evening.
  2. There's a gentleman that cruises around with his dog in the side car. And yes, the dog wears goggles, and will stay in there when the owner gets in line for fair food.
  3. 6-18: It's Steamboat Days here in Winona, so the fair is in town. The kids and I cruised around. Fluid Drive 2nd gear was the thing. I like this downtown painting on one of the historic buildings. I didn't capture the whole image.
  4. 6-14-21: At the clinic downtown over lunch to get looked at. Yep, I have shingles. Fun!? Pic 2: at Walgreens picking up the medicine for it.
  5. Looking good man!
  6. Gosh I love that car. And taking that car out to that location...is special ?
  7. Sweet! Congrats ?
  8. 6-12-21: Out for a night cruise around town with the kids. Got a break from the super hot weather/humidity today. Tonight's cruise was just pure bliss. Driving the Meadowbrook never gets old! The oil splatter on the pavement is from our van, not the Meadowbrook ?
  9. Future driver ?
  10. Just wanted to share this brochure I picked up. I like how they call the engine the "super flying scot". Funny too how they make the car look roomy!?
  11. 6-10: Running some errands after work. Stopped at a local garage to inquire about getting new exhaust on my 48 B1D. Been super hot and muggy here (90s), but the Meadowbrook hasn't let me down. Hell, it'll run on 7 cylinders and with the carb about falling off. ?
  12. The 38s look good together. You had a good run with the Windsor. Glad it found a new home.
  13. What an awesome car! Congrats.
  14. Awesome! Reminds me of when my Meadowbrook's engine was fresh and clean! Keith, I'm gonna put my nose where it don't belong. Consider using Evans Waterless coolant. It's guaranteed for the life of your engine, even if the car changes ownership. The inside of my radiator has ZERO rust after 4+ years from the rebuild date. I'm sure the engine block is the same if I could see inside.
  15. Awesome! And congrats. Don't mess with the oil in the Fluid Drive just yet. Wait till some others chime in on that....
  16. We're here to give encouragement! Welcome back ?
  17. Try French Lake Auto Parts here in Minnesota. Also Elmer's Auto Salvage in Fountain City, Wisconsin.
  18. Right now my 60 Rambler American is up on blocks while I re-pack the front wheel bearings and double check the brakes. I had filled the car up and noticed a little bit of gas leaking out of the cap. I pulled the cap off and more gas spilled out and I realized the gasket on the old camp is pretty worn. I replaced it with a new one from my truck which happened to fit on there. It seemed like problem solved. Well I went out there today and noticed it's leaking again, and I gently released the cap only to have a flood of gas come out of there from the pressure. Is there a plugged gas vent valve somewhere that I need to look at? I had never heard of such a thing but ran across a couple of things online. I need to do something quick before the damn tank explodes. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I've owned 60 cars and I have not seen this problem.
  19. It came back down when I started moving, almost immediately as usual. 375F is the boiling point, and -80F the freeze point. I've had zero problems with this (Evans waterless) coolant.
  20. 6-4: To work everyday this week with the Meadowbrook. Now I'm on my way home stuck behind a train in the 95° heat. We'll see how well my waterless coolant holds up as I sit here and idle.... Update: Temp needle was up there... didn't seem to matter. Made it home fine. ?
  21. I had a nice 52 Chevy Deluxe 30 years ago. It was a nice original car with the fender skirts. 6v push button start, and didn't have any water/weather leaks. Good luck on your project!
  22. I've never seen such a setup... very interesting! Thanks for sharing. Now on to YouTube to see if I can find a video of one to watch. ?
  23. That is awesome! Never would have guessed...
  24. Some pics from today. It originally had rubber floor mats, those were taken out and replaced with carpet. He did a nice job, but I prefer the rubber floor mats. The original ones were toast though. The seats and door panels look pretty nice. They tried to match it as close to the original as possible.
  25. Junkyard pics where it sat for 20+ years. I'm guessing it stopped running and driving in 1975 when it was last licensed, and then at some point spent 20 or more years in this guy's personal junkyard. The latter is what the previous owner told me. The picture with the battery is when he told me that he stuffed one in there just to see if the lights and blinkers would work, which they did.
