  3. A Meadowbrook and a Nash...
  4. Swallowed up by the trees. Corvair rampside pickup. Engine in the back.
  5. Some trucks. I love the Diamond T. It was pretty solid.
  6. Some cool shots....
  7. 10-2: Drove the Meadowbrook over to Elmer's Auto Salvage in Fountain City, WI this morning for their guided junkyard tour. About an hour and forty five minute walk. My son and I had a good time. There was about 20 people in our tour group. There are two or maybe three different tours throughout the day. As soon as we walked in I seen this old pilot house.
  8. Pic 1: picking up the kids out front for a test drive. Pic 2: you can see here the wick is as dry as the desert. I suppose it had never been touched. Pic 3: it says in the back of the speedometer assembly that it is made in the USA in LaCrosse Wisconsin, just down the road from us! Pic 4: the wick soaking up some light oil. Pic 5: speedometer guts on the bench. I used Super lube lightweight Grease on the worm gear and mating gear that run the odometer. The remnants of grease that was still on it was old and dry. The whole assembly was very stiff before the greasing and lubrication. No wonder it made a bunch of noise. Final pic: back in business. No noise and no jumping of the needle. Thanks for the help fellas! I would have never guessed that there was a wick that needed greasing.
  9. 9-29: Out Halloween house hunting again with the kids. Interior pic is right after I pulled into the garage.
  10. I like both versions ?
  11. 9-29: To work and back again today. Ran the heater this morning. Vent windows turned in for air this afternoon ? Just got parked...
  12. I just hooked up a new speedometer cable on my 48 B1C. Bought it from DCM. It seems to be really squealy and somewhat jumpy. The squealing I can definitely hear from the speedometer, not underneath. I fed the cable in straight and tightened it pretty good. My question is: Is it supposed to be lubed before installation, and if so, what do I use? I've never installed one before.
  13. What an awesome truck ?
  14. 9-27: Out for an in-town cruise with the kids. Couldn't resist since it was so nice out. 60F and perfect. Stopped at this incredibly decorated Halloween themed yard. Life size skeleton horses (and riders), and the dragon breathed real flames. I'd have tuned in but I unhooked the radio in the American.
  15. That would be me!?
  16. Looking real good Keith! Love that plate, and your car even more. I bet it was nice getting a little surprise in the mail like that. ?
  17. 9-25: Out again with the American following an afternoon at Hidden Trails pumpkin farm near West Salem, WI. Good times there with the corn maze, playground for the kids, and pumpkins, gourds, squash, and mums. Stopped for snacks like we usually do. Another 1 1/2 hr drive. The American didn't miss a beat. Had the heater on most of the time. Generator working great. Clear skies and low 50s. 3 pics are before we left, the other is on the highway near Rollingstone, MN right before heading uphill on county road 25. It's dark, winding and scary, but fun ?
  18. 9-24: Picked up the generator after work then reinstalled it. The brushes were bad (worn and short) and the guts needed cleaning. Works perfectly now. I was lucky in removing it and unknowingly overlooking other things that could have been wrong. Tells you how much I know. The damn thing was a bear to get back in. Learned some new swear word combinations. Went out cruising with the kids to give it a good test run. No problems. We ran for about an hour and a half on the highway, and stop for snacks of course. ?
  19. I did test it with my multimeter. I think I did it correctly. It's not something I'm too familiar with.
  20. 9-22: Removed the speedometer cable tonight and ordered a new one from DCM. Also went for a short cruise around town. Got the blower fan for the heater working again. Just a loose wire. ?
  21. 9-22: Out for a night cruise with the kids. I almost forgot how to shift after driving the Rambler for so many days ? We were all shocked at how much more room we had compared to the Rambler as well ? Ahh...the good old Meadowbrook. It ran good!
  22. 9-22: The connections on the generator were filthy and corroded. I cleaned them up but to no avail, the generator still wasn't working so I took it out. I'll take it to a local shop tomorrow for testing and a rebuild.
  23. 9-21: To work this morning with the American. Full moon night cruise with the kids later on. Just got back from that...10:30pm. The generator light came on and stayed on during the the ride. I just slapped my multimeter on it; looks like I'll be taking it off tomorrow after work.
  24. They never look at any of my cars. But we shall see if they notice this time! ?
  25. 9-20: Was scanning eBay for a cool front plate. (MN only requires the rear plate on a car 20 years or older). My Meadowbrook has an awesome Veterans of Foreign Wars plate. I went with a perfectly patinaed 1960 Iowa plate. A strange thing happened when I was searching for bolts to mount it. One bolt I picked out of the bin has an "R" (for Rambler!) on the face. There's just no way that can happen. It was literally the second bolt I grabbed, and it fit the hole!?
