  1. All D-24s came with stud pressed into the drums.....no lug bolts front and rear are studs and lug nuts.
  2. Whoever said 46-48 D-24 came with lug bolts was wrong....you're car came with studs pressed in from the factory.
  3. Been working fine for 16 years now.
  4. It gives me peace of mind, couldn't careless about the composition of the material in said plug. That being said.....one may do to their car as they please, following my advice is certainly up to them.
  5. 2 freeze plugs recommended in that hole......let some other freeze plug pop out where you can get to it easier.
  6. Good for you Don. I would rather give my tools to deserving people that respect them while I still have decision making capabilities rather than have them pilfered by unworthies [relatives that don't return things they borrow.] in my dotage. Or worse sold by my loving yet clueless wife to some schmuck at one of her garage sales.........hopefully after the funeral.....lol.
  7. Also a good way to get some ooomph, custom pistons never crossed my mind when I posted earlier in the thread, Thank you Adam.
  8. Terrill advertises in Hemmings.
  9. Must swap the 230 piston rods also, not just the crankshaft or things will get crunchy.
  10. Very nice, you got Hellcat money?.........lol.
  11. I always bought a hurst 4 speed shifter and let the reverse lever hang on my 3 speed conversions..........looks like a real sturdy unit Paul.
  12. You can spin the starter on 12v, make sure your radio heater and wipers are turned off so they don't get fried but save yourself the headache and but a 6v battery and do it right. 12v might bonfire that ratty old wiring.
  13. Beat me to it by 17 minutes.....lol. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/p15-d24-to-95-2001-explorer-disk-conversion.702258/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/plymouth-disc-brakes-made-cheap.490706/
  14. 1 ton suspension and duals would be the only way I would put that train wreck in the back of one of my trucks.
  15. Aren't the A- body 318 manifolds reversible ? As the driver's side is front dump for clearance .....which means you can use the passenger side manifold on the driver's side also?
  16. As Martha would say........And that's a good thing.
  17. These are 5.2/318 manifolds off of a durango, they hug the block pretty tight.....just in case you need to look for different ones. Unfortunately I do not know what years, sorry.
  18. I like iron so I said iron, that being said aluminum or iron if a brand new the cc's and compression will be provided for you from the mfg, if an old undetermined head you don't know how much you can safely mill off without the piston striking. CC's are the way you determine how much has already been or not been milled so you can continue without damage. So if you don't know what the stock cc's were how can you figure out how much has been or not been milled already? Ma Mopar did not provide us with this measurement so we have a crap shoot milling iron heads with a dubious history. Can you hear me now.....lol. I hope that helps.
  19. I wasn't price quoting the 6 but the feasibility of aluminum 8 cylinder head......$1,500 dollars was their ballpark quote.
  20. Wonderful, glad it didn't fall apart when you drug it out and loaded it!
  21. Pictures of long slumbering car please.......must..have...pictures...lol.
  22. On FB they were talking about a March pour......also he wondered if there was a market for the 8 cylinder heads, said they would look close to stock and cost about $1,500 apiece.....I wish they would pour some L6 Iron heads.....you wouldn't have to guess CC'S or compression anymore when rebuilding.
  23. This must be what our cylinders fire like.......
