  1. At least you have nice calliope music to listen to.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Yugo was a license built Fiat.
  3. And once more after its been hot.
  4. New gaskets have a sealer printed on them already. I always install them dry with no failures yet. Head and block of course will be thorougly cleaned.
  5. Yeah, but how does it sound?
  6. Alright then, I just visited Helm's site and found the "service info DVD". There is no paper manual mentioned. The catch? FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. Ford does not have a corner on stupid prices. $400 for one DVD. Thats ludicrous.
  7. No, I haven't. Remember when their address was printed in the owner's manual so you could order them? No mention of them now. Maybe I'll Google around some more. Thanks for the nudge.
  8. Don't forget to plug the vent hole in the side of the square on the cap.
  9. Now that dealer's shady dealing has been brought up, I have ALWAYS had the shop manuals for every car I've had for decades. Suddenly, factory shop manuals are not available for my new Buick. Whats the deal on that?
  10. The hex head plug will drain the coolant, you may need to poke a wire in there to loosen up the crud. Use plenty of penetrating oil on the square nut holding the temp bulb in the outer fitting. Make you don't twist the bulb as you loosen the nut or the capillary tube will break. Just break the square nut loose a few degrees and then try to loosen the bulb from the nut before you loosen the nut much more. It looks like its in pretty good shape so you should be able to get it out.
  11. JB Weld? Its surprised me so many times that I kind of consider it for anything now.
  12. Late timing wil make it sluggish, not advanced timing.
  13. Fredericksburg seems to have come thru safely. I haven't been around town yet, lots of branches to pick up, but all looks well.
  14. If its got a pretty heavy, cloth covered wire, that's a clue that it's probably 6 volt.
  15. Here in Fredericksburg its starting to rain pretty good and a little windy. It just looks ominous, but so far its not bad. Sure glad I brought the new car instead of the old one. Just one more bonehead stunt on my record.
  16. I am coming thru northern Va tomorrow. Where is the car located exactly? Please leave the keys over the visor. Thank you.
  17. Bob, I am very sorry to hear of you Dad's passing. Please understand that I know how you feel and you are not alone. You have friends across the world that wish you peace and comfort right now. The memories you have can never be lost and his legacy lives on in all his grandchildren. Peace
  18. Use the ignition key to get codes so you'll know where to start.
  19. I think a 1/4" open end wrench will fit and probably round it off. Go with the 6 or 8 inch crescent wrench. Right-hand, of course.
  20. Oh boy, I'm going to Fredericksburg Va. for next week. Now I've got something to look forward to. Woohoo.
  21. Maybe the car swap should include a swap of the seats if you don't like the 42's.
  22. I think its 1/4-28
  23. Here is a picture for your amusement. No, its not micrometer accurate, but it didn't cost me anything and it got my shoes close enough for me. I am also of the opinion that if you dont remove your backing plates, you don't need to make a major adjustment of the anchor pins. But hey, to each his own. There is also a picture of a hub puller made from another old hub.
  24. You can't be exact, but you can get close.
  25. Tomorrow I will dig up the remains and post some pictures for you amusement. If that dang art show in the park doesn't waylay me.
